UCF should still be the best.

Memphis maybe next, with most back, including Norvell. Need a QB, though, although his offense is supposedly designed to work with an average QB who can simply distribute to all the playmakers.

Houston maybe next, depending on Oliver returning and healthy, and King becoming Ward.

USF. I agree they have a lot of talent, even though I don't really trust Strong to win the big games.

Navy. Not a great season, but they will always be in contention, and looked great in their last game.

Beyond those 5, I don't know enough about returning rosters to make an intelligent guess.

So you think USF will go from back to back 10+ win seasons to not even making a bowl? You do know that Taggart and now Strong recruited their butts off and there is talent in reserve, right? In fact, right now, USF has the #2 class in the entire so called "G5".

My apologies... And a total honest mistake guys.

UCF
USF
Memphis
Houston
Navy
Cincinnati
Tulsa
Temple
UConn
Tulane

If UConn and Tulane don't disappoint and instead slide in in the bowl picture this league could send nearly most its programs bowling. Wow

RE: Which football teams will be good next year?
Tulane should be strong next year. First time in awhile the strength should be on offense instead of defense. Lose some very quality senior players on the D side. But we'll have considerable consistency/depth on offense. No reason we shouldn't be bowling, personally hoping for a big break out season.

Schedule seems pretty favorable with the potential for some big wins.
Home: (season opener) Wake, Nicholls State, East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, SMU
Away: UAB, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Houston, USF, Tulsa

I figure we should be favored Nicholls, ECU, Navy, SMU, Tulsa.
50/50: Wake, UAB, Cincy, Houston.
Very Tough: Memphis, OSU, USF.

I see anywhere between 5-10 wins, somewhere closer to 8. Honestly feel like there is a lot of momentum riding with Willie Fritz. Could even surprise and get 10+. Fritz is building the depth up that Tulane has been lacking for a long time. Once that happens we'll be able to hang with anyone, hell we were even beating Oklahoma this year for a bit.

ECU heading into the 2018 season has more questions than answers in nearly every facet of its football team so I doubt it will be us. Mo did promise a bowl though, so maybe 6-6 via playing spoiler?

ECU will be bowl bound. Mo promised. 04-cheers

In seriousness, ECU's offense is improving (a little). Sacks allowed went from #86 to #18. That's huge for our quarterbacks compared to the previous season. Total offense moved from #55 to #42. Ifedi will play and Ahlers is a possibility. On the other hand, D is under the hole at the bottom of the abyss. ECU has to win the first 2 games, NC A&T and UNC (only 2 FBS wins), or the chance of a bowl is negative zero percent.

RE: Which football teams will be good next year?
houston looks deep, but itll depend on the new OC..

the next 3-5 weeks will drastically alter my houston projections
0) the OC hire is the biggest

1) a HUGE recruit is on a big houston lean

2) a few hours ago a HS all american LB who was getting heavy minutes at Miami (but technically wasn't the starter) announced he wants to grad transfer and that houston was the school he was looking at (not sure if we have enough scholly for him)

3) the 4th 4star DE we were supposed to add might not clear academically for the second year in a row (technically act score) we find out if he got the scores required in a few days

4) a top 50 national recruit freshman safety from ole miss transferred to houston, he is filling waiver

5) starting safety at UH is a projected 4-5rd pick if he leaves early, he is strongly considering it

at worst for houston i see 8 wins, if all 6 of these things fall in place the next few weeks im calling undefeated (my ego will explode)..enough of these land especially the OC hire, i think we'll still be the class of the west

Not going to list every team but I would think UCF in the east and Houston in the west. Memphis, Navy, and USF will still be good. Temple is on the upswing also.

UConn will improve but im not guaranteeing a bowl game. But I expect at least 4-5 wins next year. Randy is getting his own recruits now and we will improve with time.

I was high on Houston, but this season changed my mind. I think they will struggle to get more than seven wins.

UCF looks to be good again, and has a manageable but also moderately challenging OOC, so I expect them to compete for the Championship and NY6.

Memphis has a relatively weak OOC and returns most of their players, so they will be good.

Navy could legitimately go 4-1 OOC and to me is the class of the West.

USF will take a few steps back and will be 2-2 come October. Will struggle with the top teams like UCF, Houston and Memphis.

I agree. Edsall will get it done. I just don’t think it will happen just quite yet. I was a huge fan of his it east teams.

Oh, and since I know you guys care, SDSU returns it's entire Offensive Line, as has a Senior QB. Not sure who the starter at RB will be, but we have a stable of guys. None will be as good as Penny though.

On Defense, we lose vets in the Secondary, but return most of the two deep.

It is early, but I think 9-3 or 10-2 is possible. I would predict 9-3 if I had to place a bet now.

your qb is horrible

you play boise, standford, arizona state and fresno all games youll be favored to lose, and there hasnt been a season in where sdsu hasnt lost a game it should have won. ill go 8-4 upset one of the 4, loses to an unknown

Well, I think the past two seasons have broke my Purple and Gold glasses, because I don't see anything positive for ECU. I would like to think we will win vs NC A&T..... I think we will...maybe. After that I think 3 wins is our ceiling. Our defense didnt' suck that bad because of talent....it sucked that bad because of scheme....and our players being completely out of position...that's coaching. The only reason Mo didn't get fired in my mind is because our AD needs him to be successful, and we didn't wan to pay the buyout. I hope I'm wrong, but my crystal ball says we have picked a bad time to suck ....and I think we are at least 2 years away from being competitive.
