It'll come down to this.

The AAC isn't going anywhere collectively. It will always be G5.

But a few of the individual schools... wouldn't be surprised if they got poached. Most likely the Big XII. Memphis and Houston feel like the obvious candidates if it's two. Maybe Cincy and one of the Florida schools if it's more.

So here you have a team that went undefeated. And UCF beat Auburn a team that beat both Georgia and Alabama (both teams in the playoff) but UCF has no shot at playing for a National Championship.

Yes I hate the P6 crap. There are 10 conferences that play FBS football there should be no reference to POWER anything.

I guess in the NFL the NFC South should be re-named the POWER south
as they have 3 teams in the playoff.

I will always root for a G5 over a P5 always so hopefully some day they will give us a seat at the playoff table.

But what happened today is the reason they won't. They would rather have a 4 team system they can control to keep a UCF out even if it means like this year keeping the Big 10 and PAC 12 out of the playoff.

Congrats to UCF...the clear class of the non-P5 schools. A coach and a quarterback can make all the difference in the world to any of us.

Yep, at the very least, an 8-team playoff with 5 Powers, 1 highest ranked G5, and 2 at-larges.

Optimally, it'd be great to include every conference winner, but not sure how that all squeezes into the season. Although the FCS seems to manage it. I guess you could shorten the regular season back to 11 games to help ease it up a little bit.

Here is the thing that makes it so hard to keep continuity and build a program.

Every one of UCF coaches all heading to Nebraska tomorrow.

You can see what happened to WKU this year when all of our coaches headed to Purdue.

We were picked to win CUSA this year, and one news writer picked us to be in the Peach Bowl.

You can see how that turned out.

That being said it’s always good when an outsider beats a Roy Kramer cartel member as that sets the psychos in motion which was seen shortly after Auburn’s loss with the #FireGus all over Twitter. We all should be fighting for College Football Playoff inclusion for all conf champs and not just a single Bowl game against someone.

You have to pull for a G5 anytime over a P5 school regardless of the conference absolutely. Puts a major dent in the notion that they can't compete with the "big boys". I say nice job UCF.

Wouldn't an undefeated team from a power conference be playing in the CFP and not competing with the rest of G5 for a chance to play in a NY6 bowl?

Poor CUSA. They are having a hard time coping with how irrelevant the G4 is and having to root for UCF because they feel they are somehow associated with a win by the AAC vs P5. Yall aren't. LMFAO

Outside of Boise, the G4 have never logged a win in a BCS/NY6 bowl.

I don't think there is any obvious candidates.. Memphis, Houston, Cincinnati, or UCF would all flourish in the Big 12.

That one step would change an entire program and brand.
For this to be even talked about is thrilling and maybe one day dreams can come true.

And now that the American is formed, its going to be a struggle for them to make it again. An AAC team is going to have the advantage each year. They're really going to wish they joined when they could lol.
