As a state flagship, I think they have a ton of potential. They're a little west of the footprint but they have a potentially really good basketball program and they could always upgrade the football program.

Shiet lets add Canada and mexico along with new mexico, then we can rename the conference NORAD (North America Defining Conference).

Ehh. New Mexico barely has 2 million people in the entire state. If your going west, you really need to get part of the Cali market or it almost doesnt make much sense. That said, if you just want to push into the Mountain Time zone (less travel stress but adds the ability to add late start games), I suppose my preferred selection would be Air Force. You can pair them with Colorado St or New Mexico--either one would be fine (though the best pairing would be with Army--add one academy in the west and one in the east).

If we get Air Force we should move the new NORAD conference head quarters there. Who better to protect our conferences nuclear codes than the air force?
