Well at least Harris showed up in the second half last night. Yes King got taken to school but you can see his potential at least defensively. Right now Jones and him are being thrown to the wolves when Thompson gets into foul trouble. Add about 10-15 pounds to King through weight training and he'll be an interesting prospect.

And '79 just dropped me a dime...

Chad suggested this could be the last year for JT4. He has played one year of prep ball + 3 at EMU, he doesn't want to be 'too old' for the NBA. NBA likes them younger, not older (I almost inserted a Roy Moore joke. Glad I didn't 03-lmfao 03-lmfao).

King will be our center next year most likely. Wish we had some sitouts, but we don't.

Talking about next year: Chad said that we'll play Kansas.

RE: Game Day: @Syracuse
I would be stunned if we went into next season with King and Jones as our only center options. If Murphy comes back, I could see us going the JUCO or grad transfer route again. It will almost certainly be "center by committee" if Thompson leaves, with the gameplan revolving around Jackson and Minnie.

Scary to think about losing Thompson, which makes this season that much more important. Will we ever have a better chance than this to make noise in the MAC? I doubt it.

It was a well played, close game before slipping away at the end. That is what we were looking for to judge how good this EMU team is. Buffalo and Toledo both keeping it within 10 is kind of irrelevant.

Ramy, regarding "Buffalo and Toledo both keeping it within 10 is kind of irrelevant." I disagree, because Buffalo and Toledo also got homered. Buffalo and Toledo were picked ahead of us in MAC play so let's see if this game is a barometer on how we do against both of them. Without checking the schedule, I think we could go 0.500 against them.

My point is, it is safe to say EMU, Buffalo, and Toledo all were competitive against Syracuse and lost. And that is relevant. Anything beyond that does not hold much weight.

Don’t forget Bond is a senior. So doubles the weight of your point.

Hm, I love JT4 but he honestly got outplayed by Syracuse's center last night and didn't do well against Indiana either. I'm not sure that impresses the NBA scouts. I agree JT4 has the raw physical talent that would interest a NBA team.

RE: Game Day: @Syracuse
Dear Friends,
I totally agree with what has been said about the officiating, and the great difference of course, in foul shots, but one thing no one mentioned is our inability to make threes. As the game reached the last few minutes, Syracuse would come down and hit three or four threes in those last minutes, and we couldn't even make a two pointer. Even with the bad officiating, that's what caused the fifteen point loss. We couldn't make a basket. Especially, our three point shots were terrible. If, we get into this kind of game in the league, we better have the ability to make those shots.

Time for our blow out on Rochester that I believe does more harm than good (due to bad habits).

These were your game officials. Guess, Syracuse, not EMU, got luckey last night:

"James Luckie, Bert Smith, Joe Lindsay"

The performance of all 3 of these jokers should be reviewed.

From the 2018 offers I can see the staff is trying to get another version of Bond. So far I've only seen one scholie offer for a legit center candidate for 2018.

We get 19 fouls and Syracuse gets only 7, I think the NCAA should be reviewing the performance of these refs.

Murphy post game comment:

“When you come into a venue like this you have to overcome an ACC team coached by a Hall of Fame coach (Jim Boeheim),” Eastern Michigan coach Rob Murphy said. “But, then, when it’s consistent calls every time up the floor and they’re against you — 19 fouls to seven — you just can’t win that way. I’m not one to talk about officiating or fouls being called, but tonight it was evident. We just couldn’t overcome it.”

I think the home team hires the refs for these OIC games. To be in good graces with Syracuse, they call it their way (yes this is Bull $hit!!)

I believe this, too, is my understanding.

There has to be a better way!!!

The only thing worse is our MAC/B1G officials who have come to dislike Mr. JT4. Some of the most 'favorable' officiated games this year have been game officials in other parts of the country (FL, CA).

Bond is the most important member of this team. I can see why they want a replacement , but won’t be easy to find.

Ramy! why do you think he's the most important member of the team? i love Bond - not trying to bash him or pick fights with you - but i can't imagine picking someone other than Thompson as most important guy on the team.

No doubt, Aaron. When Thompson is out of the game I start to pray for our team.

We have not this year held our own against a D-I team w/out him in the game.
