MyBB Your Opinion - Will the Tigers Make the NCAA or NIT Postseason?
I noticed a couple of posters on another thread affirming Tubby’s belief that we will earn either an NIT or NCAA bid (Thread).

What say you?

Unless Memphis wins the AAC tourney, no.

As for the NIT:

The lowest rated at-large NIT team last year (Boise State) had a KenPom rating of 98 and an RPI of 70.

Memphis is currently sitting at 163 at KenPom and 169 in the RPI.

In case you overlooked the icon in the thread title, he's talking about men's basketball. Not women's soccer.

Best chance we have at the NCAA is to keep improving, peak at the end of the year, and get the autobid. Can't see us getting an at large. Too many variables for the NIT for me to hazard a guess.

Unless the Tigers have a Guardian Angel ready to intervene I say no.

I still expect some good games ahead and maybe an upset or 2.

Huh?

The FBI investigation. 75% of the teams receive post season bans.

We could make the tournament if 283 schools get banned from post season play. Imagine if they only ban 282 and we are first out. What a heartbreaker that would be.

An NIT would be a pleasant surprise and indicate progression under Tubby.

Huh?

All the regular season from lesser leagues that don't win their tournament get an NIT bid IIRC.

Say for instance Albany does that. Normally, we would get an at large bid against them given equalish resumes and that we beat them head to head. Toss all that if they win their conference regular season, but not their tournament. Fairly common scenario in the smaller leagues where there isn't a clear dominant team I would think.

Again, we'll have to jump about 70 spots in KenPom which is likely a longshot at best considering Memphis started at 130 this year and is now 163--meaning the team is actually regressing as the season has gone on.

If 75% are guilty, so are the other 25%.
