yeah, that's the way it was intended.
unfortunately, we have the usual suspects on here showing their ignorance and bringing up schools that they have some serious insecurities about
Not a bad story for a failing newspaper.

Not sure why people applaude the failure of local newspapers because when they're gone, there will be little, if any, in-depth coverage of local issues, teams, or HS sports. We're already splitting time now with Nashville.

Yep, you are spot on. The CA gives the best Tiger coverage of any media, period. Who will takeover that when its dead? A weekly newspaper? A 30 second TV news spot?

I think it's because this specific local paper kind of had it coming with staffing & editorial decisions they've made.
Besides, there's still plenty of coverage. It's just not the traditional media. Times are a-changin.

Because they are aholes. 50 years ago you would be correct. Hell I can watch a game on my phone from Australia if I want to now. I don't need their smart ass snark.

RE: "Last Chance University"
The CA suffers like many newspapers across the globe due to the Internet turning the old business model upside down.
IMHO (of course), they also screwed the pooch by not understanding the political demographics of their actual PAYING subscribers vs. the political makeup of the population in general. By leaning too much to the left, they alienated many folks like me who wanted local news and opinion without slanting too much in one direction. Heck, I already pick up a copy of the Memphis Flyer (I enjoy the paper for the local coverage of music, events, sports and Memphis politics) without paying a dime.
