Cold front New Year's Day? Shoot, it's here now! In my neck of the North Carolina woods the high tomorrow is only about 34 and the low 21. That's about 15 degrees below normal. My gas logs are getting plenty of use.

I've followed politics for far longer than the Bush timeframe and this is the worst it has ever been... with that said, I think today's almost instant ability to blast out new stories and the proliferation of 24/7 news channels has made it seem worse.

The political extremes on both sides now have an avenue to spew whatever they choose and they are the squeaky wheels. Most of us worry more about our daily lives than the political crusades these wackos do.

The media has now chosen sides to pander to and since most of them are liberals and flock to the liberal enclaves - most of the "news" is slanted that way. They are out fishing for clicks and views and truth or accuracy doesn't matter.
