You were a bigot in that post and you chose to stereotype those that live in rural areas. It seems you lack a little education yourself.

I ripped your school and the town as podunk and a nothing place. That's what it is It's not a destination area. It's flyover country. Sorry for stating the facts. That's why it's easier to get more fans. No pro teams. Nothing town. Not nearly as much to do. And a lot longer history in football

Nothing like East Coast Elites telling us folks in "Flyover Country" how much we don't matter. That worked out real good politically this year.

I'm from northeast Ohio. Not east coast. Just stating facts on the vast difference between the two areas

Just as you should notice the vast difference between d1 titles and your claimed titles in division 2

Ohio on the other hand...

Top 25 market. With three pro teams. Not quite the same as Ruston ..

Even Cleveland and Cincinnati are looked down on in a similar light when compared to top 10 markets, just as you are comparing Boca to Ruston.

There are a lot of towns all throughout Ohio not that different from Ruston, and all throughout Florida for that matter as well.

Also I do not give a rats ass what USM and LA Tech did in the past. It means nothing and has gotten you nowhere.

It bothers me your programs just accept mediocrity and will never grow beyond what you are.
You guys got used to others school lifting the confrence

It bothers me that I can not go to more C-USA away games because there is not a damn thing to do in the town.
You guys are just going to have to accpet we are better in everyway now. That's life.

You are arguing from Boca Raton's standpoint not Ohio's. I'm from Baton Rouge not Ruston but that's not what I am arguing. How many National Titles to do you have in football at any level?? Your CNN facts show inherent bias and that's the source of contention.

I don't care if people talk down on Cleveland City deserved it til about a decade ago. But now most people that down talk it haven't seen the vast improvements. Same with Detroit

The point is it's a lot easier to get fans to a G5 game in a nothing vs a destination area with tons to do

If you need a reason beyond seeing your team play to make the trip, you're doing it wrong. Also, if you can't find a good time in just about any D1 college town, you're doing it wrong. You looking for somewhere to go shopping or clubbing on your football road trips? I guarantee there is cold beer and good food in Ruston, probably live music somewhere after games, what more do you want?

And FAU has done what exactly with their program??? We don't except mediocrity in Ruston but the football record at FAU argues something different. You "Market" teams say the say Bullspit every single time you get backed in the corner. "You have gone as far as you can go" "We will keep growing forever and ever" Both statements are horse hockey.

Point is using D2 titles from the 60s and 70s is beyond weak Man I live an hour away from d3 power mount union and if they talked their titles to even small d1 schools as them being superior, they'd be laughed out of the building or stadium

I'm used to seeing the "too much competing entertainment options" from "destination" based programs when things aren't going so well, not so much after historic seasons.

At any rate, on the basic level, taking any pejorative terms out of the mix, is there objectively more to do in Boca than Ruston? Sure. Does that make it objectively better to every person? No. Does that mean there's "nothing" in Ruston? No.

Further, while there is certainly more to do, I wonder, how many more people live within say a twenty mile radius of your stadium than live within a twenty mile radius of theirs? You can say they have less competition, they can point to how many more people you have to pull from.

Also have Miami and FIU within an hour...

You won't catch me sticking up big time for south Florida fans Most suck But a lot of that is because there are a ton of transplants Because again it's a destination area

I also think attendance smack is usually used when you know you're a lesser team in a given year. Living up here , really doesn't matter to me who goes

But very few people are saying that you guys don't belong. I'm as big a skeptic of FAU football's long term success as anyone, but never have I suggested you guys don't belong, quite the opposite, I've always been a proponent of having both you and FIU in whatever conference MT is in, admittedly largely for the recruiting footprint, but no matter what you think of my skepticism of FAU, it has never been based out of a feeling that you guys "don't belong" or aren't "on the same level as MT", it has always been about historical trends and as I know I've told you before my view that programs *tend* to be what they've always been.

One of the major advantages you have is that your history being so short at the moment is that you only have a decade and a half of a mostly poor culture of winning to erase, but I'm sorry that you take such great offense to my "wait and see" view of your recent success.

I for one think attendance smack is very dumb, on this matter I think you and I may agree.

Winning in front of a packed house is better than winning in front of empty bleachers, but winning is always better than losing, regardless of what's going on in the stands.
