RE: James Harrison goes to the Patriots
It's kind of dumb for Steelers fans to be too upset with Harrison. He's always been a guy who says and does cringe worthy things. His bad attitude and hyper competitive nature is what made him great.

On another KSU/Steelers note, I saw an interesting stat today. In his career Roosevelt Nix has 1 receiving td, 1 rushing td, and 6 receptions. Dri Archer ended his career with no tds and 7 receptions. Who would've guessed that our nose tackle would score more points in the NFL than one of most prolific offensive players.

Anti-Zip, I'm surprised that Archer couldn't find a team that would have him as a kick returner/ wide receiver like Edelman and Cribbs. Not as good as either, of course, but good enough to play somewhere. Did he really want it badly enough? Wasn't he claimed by Buffalo on waivers but failed to report?

Archer was given plenty of chances in Pittsburgh to return kicks and he was brutally bad. Got yanked and that was the beginning of the end.

I know, Dannyb73. He rarely got the ball back to the 20, despite his speed. But, I still thought he would have plenty of chances and latch on somewhere eventually. Lots of players bounce around with lots of teams before they finally get it together.

Yeah, I don't know. Maybe he had an attitude or work ethic issue. I found it strange that a guy like Tavon Austin found a nice role and niche but Dri couldn't.

Yeah, Dannyb73, it's hard to figure sometimes. Who would've thought that Nix would end up one of the fan's favorites in Pittsburgh as a fullback?

RE: James Harrison goes to the Patriots
Dri had a simple problem. He could not play when opponents were between him and the goal. In other words, he was opposed to contact. As long as he was the closest player to the goal and had the ball, no one was going to catch him. It got into his head so strongly, that he could not catch the ball, hang on to the ball, nor block. I observed several times that Hazel actually grabbed Dri as he was faking a limp coming off the field, and pushed him back into play telling him to suck it up. It is difficult for small players to endure the rigors of football. Dri was a superb track athlete, trying to play football. No shame.

This is still the greatest run I ever saw. I swear he disappears in the middle of the field.

I agree 100% and thought he could contributed to the Steelers but as the prior post said he really didn't like the contact

And he got paid. Even if he didn't love football and was afraid of contact (which I have no idea if that's true) he made 1.78 million from it and probably got out before he would be in danger of brain damage. Not bad.
