RE: Juwan Moye
no need to panic. transfers come in too this time of year.
spring practice is ending everywhere this month. guys across the country will be moving on.
we will have no shortage of FBS guys who would like to come to JMU and not sit out a year.

With Moye leaving a already thin DT, someone is going to have to be moved to DT. I can’t see for the likely 2 deep:
DE: Darrious Carter, Rondell Carter, Daka, Black, Terrell.
DT: Greene, Artariwa, and the true Fr Thurston. Is there someone else likely to be a solid 2 deeper?
R Carter was listed at 269 last year. Houston was quoted in the article a few days ago saying he was playing mostly DE, but was also about 15 lbs heavier, so I guess around 6’3”/280-285ish.

FWIW Greene last year was listed at 6’3”/277 as a true Fr, and Atariwa at 6’3”/282 as a rFr.
I think Ron'Dell really only played DT on likely passing situations last year. They would take Urquhart out of the game and bring in Ron'Dell to get more speed for the rush. If he ends up playing DT this year I'm guessing it will be in similar situations (barring injuries).
Semaj Sorhaindo (rFr., 6'2", 287) played DT with the 2s. I think they tried either Black or Terrell there but wasn't tracking super close.

Jeff Hanson is a very good defensive line coach.

During the radio interview after the game Houston said they had another transfer that would be coming in the next month and that he would be filling an area of need. Could be a defensive lineman.

Based on what I saw, DL looked great. OL and possibly WR (simply due to youth/experience) seem like bigger concerns.

Daka, for one, looked really good. The notes had him at 223 but appeared bigger than that. I watched him specifically on a few plays and he dominated just about everyone he lined up against.

I was surprised to see Paris Black playing almost exclusively inside but I guess it makes sense with the lack of depth at DT. Daka was really impressive yesterday. Just blew by Jahee Jackson several times. Terrell seemed slow to me especially in pursuit. Not sure how much time he will get with as good as Carter and Daka looked. I agree with others that I hope they bring in another transfer DT.

Was this a case of "the D Line is THAT good" or "the O Line is STILL struggling"? From comments so far, it's starting to sound more like the o line not executing. I know we're still nursing injuries to several players.
