I guess I will take the philosophy of the character played by Natalie Wood in Miracle on 34th Street (keeping with the season) until I get a good source named. Until then, I can mumble "I believe, I believe...."
Cody Thompson said himself he is coming back
Is there anything official put out by the University? He may have said he will come back IF he gets a waiver. The fact nothing else has been reported leaves me skeptical.
Just stop. He posted on his personal twitter account that he is coming back and wants to win another MAC Championship.
Why would it not be questioned in light of nothing being posted anywhere else than on a Rocket's bulletin board forum. The fact it is on his personal twitter account with a link to what he stated gives some solid proof that he knows he has been cleared to get the medical hardship waiver. I just wonder if the way it was cleared will be published - i.e how is it calculated under the 30% rule and if there is room for "wiggle". It may be how I saw it on some forum (30% x 13 games = 3.9 games and rounded to 4 games. Then they did not take the 5th game he participated into consideration since it happened with the first few minutes of the game). The fact he has already graduated, did not take any redshirts previously, and has had no other issues may have lent to him being granted the waiver.
I still have questions on how it happened, but not complaining.
