Ferguson and the draft
After watching the GB/Minn game last night there is no doubt in my mind that Ferguson would make the perfect pick for the Packers in a later round.

They have no talent at back up QB and it is a perfect situation for Ferguson to be a back up and learn from one of the best in the game. Clean up some of the rough edges and develop into the GB starter in a few years. Has all the tools needed for that offense and can make almost all of the throws already.

Agree. Ferguson is talented - hard to tell how he will react to the quicker pace of play at the next level. I certainly think he is at least as good as Rosen of UCLA. I’m sure I must be missing something but Rosen, the highest rated QB prospect, has not seemed overly impressive in the three games I’ve watched him play in this year.

I bet Ferguson goes in first 4-rounds of the draft.

Ferg has better stats than Rosen in almost every category this year. I don't know why everyone is all over Rosen.

Josh Rosen played in a NFL style offense and he throws pretty well so he can come in day 1 and start. Riley Ferguson will need at 2-3 years to get used the pro offense. I suspect teams with old quarterbacks like the patriots, steeelers, chargers, saint, or green bay draft him to replace a soon to be retiring quarterback.

Rosen is not a starting NFL QB next year. That's not really a knock on him as there are few college QBs who are ever ready to be a starting NFL QB from day 1.

These last 7 years rookie QB's have been been starting day 1. If you go top ten then you are expected to start.

Well, they are calling for Aaron Rodgers head over the whole IR thing.

I hope they do have to release him now.

Used him the one week back and then had to use Case Keenum this week because one way or another I was benching Brady.

Still going to win a ship doe.

Packers medical staff said he was not going to be medically cleared to play after the last game.

Rosen stated publicly that he might wait(I doubt it) because he doesn't want to get picked by the Browns.

Ferg has better stats than Rosen and will fit great with Green Bay.

Seeing him to the Chargers in 4th in several mock drafts

Rodgers is now 34 years old and was on the bench for 3 years sitting behind Favre. So he is likely out of the picture in 3-5 more years.

It's tough to predict which QBs will have success in the NFL. If we're being honest, there are very few good QBs in the NFL as it is. We're talking about maybe 10-15 guys whose spots are solidified (Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Wentz, Goff, Rivers, Watson, Roethlisberger, Luck, Cousins, Carr, maybe a few others).

I personally don't think Ferguson will have much of a career in the NFL beyond a practice squad. You have to be incredibly accurate in the pros. I've seen Ferg miss a ton of throws. A lot of times he is throwing to wide open receivers. This is a product of the system he plays in. Of course, he's not the only one. I've heard the same said about the kid at OK St. He puts up crazy numbers, but he's throwing to guys who have so much separation it's not even funny. It's the fun and gun offense. Doesn't work that way in the NFL.

In the NFL it's about accuracy and intellect. It's not that I'm knocking Ferg. I'm just saying most guys won't make it. I don't see Rosen doing much. He makes terrible decisions. And he is not a proven winner. I'm not sold on Darnold, either.

Brady is the GOAT not because of his physical skills. It's his mind. I see Wentz as the next great NFL QB for that same reason. He's smart.

Brady, like him or not, has an incredible ability to see the field. Do does Drew Brees and other elite NFL quarterbacks.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I never saw that in Paxton. I think Ferguson has a much better chance to do well.

Despite the research put in by NFL scouts, they miss more often than not. Certain guys are no brainers, the Payton Manning’s of the world, but even they don’t always turn out. Some just don’t have the mind for it, done can’t stay healthy, etc.

But I totally agree that while physical skills are obviously important, it’s really between the ears. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, etc.. The game just seems to move slower for them.
