RE: Early signing today - surprises
I don't follow recruiting for SH!T.

But I imagine our coach turns our 2 and 3 stars into hellacious players.

Cannot wait to see the future of this team!!!

Coach Norvell said that if Brady McBride was 2 inches taller he would have had a lot more P5 schools recruiting him. All I can say to that is......McKenzie Milton the QB at UCF is 1 inch shorter than McBride.

RE: Early signing today - surprises
What’s the status on Nick Dawson? He is the LB from OK JUCO who has shown on 247 sports to be favoring the Tigers. He also has a teammate that is a big DL that came to visit recently. Both players are rated 3 stars by 247. The DL looks like his top schools he has are Nebraska (who they had him favoring) and us. I wondered if the LB, who they show favoring Memphis, was trying to sway him here? Would feel better about this class if we could sign those 2 guys.

While I am not disappointed in them or their decisions, I thought Norvell had done but juuuust enough to flip one of those local kids that are leaving in an upset. Even so, it is real progress to have been in the hunt at the end for them. No matter, the city is still represented on the roster. Gainwell hanging on and hanging in there after blowing up the All Star game IMO is probably the surprise of the day. Our QB's just have a wide range of targets to throw at already now add in this batch to the mix. I'd hate to be an opposing DC.

I look forward to these guys coming in and competing.

They'd be nice additions, but, we're not hurting at any of their positions. I tell ya this, I love the quality of the guys who are coming. Fleming and Badie, in particular, are two sticks of dynamite. Mess around if you want and give them a crack and you'll be hearing the cannon and the Memphis fight song!

It's a long way 'til February. There're going to be alot of jilted lovers across college football looking for new mates between now and then. Today's just the beginning.

True. Even worse, Ole Miss has those locked up.

Even the Big Dawgs are nowhere close to being done. If you are patient and keep digging, good players are bound to turn up. And you'll have the scholarships readily available for them. Now, you can't do anything about a guy who wants to go and play at a school they already knows that is on probation. But, if you drill into the story of a guy like Corral, who could have foreseen him being at Ole Mrs. a year ago??? Nobody! He was an USC lock and JT Daniels on the outside looking in. Corral started to have problems, SC backed off, Daniels has a super season, reclassifies, and now it is him that SC is bringing in in '18. I said all of that to say that this recruiting stuff is sooooooo screwy. When you think you know something will happen that will blow all that up. You really have to let it play out. The Big Boys can afford to miss and miss big. Not so with super evaluators like Norvell and his staff.

Gr8 points..... Norvell and staff ARE “Super Evaluators” and they DON’T normally miss.... Making their procedure SUPER efficient and amazingly effective COGS

Nonetheless. We still need a few LBs and DL. Biggest difference between P5 & G5 will always be across the O-line and D-line.

Pretty confident that those voids will be filled...The process that Norvell and staff go through, scrutinizes the aspects to get the fit that we need....ofcourse there are several factors that come in to play...I DON'T believe that this system is based off of the more mundane variables such as STARS....From this perspective @least...It seems to be MUCH more diligent than that....Evaluation via stars, is simply for minions...."Player evaluation for dummies" .....I've been there, and stars DON'T;CAN'T;WON'T evaluate player development;potential; desire or will.....and it takes ALL of the elements to render RESULTS

Anybody pull the data or have insight on who the new coaches may bring in on signing day? I hope the ASU guys pull over a few recruits, due to them being sacked. Also hoping the guys that left leave our recruits alone due to gratitude to CMN.

Don't think many of our recruits were either high on GA or Auburn's radars. Other than the one DB, which is still up in the air whether or not Auburn will offer.
