RE: Big-time QB signs with Toledo
Bradley competed in the nation's premier quarterback competition, the Elite 11 (DeShone Kizer also competed in that).

Son of former NFL head coach impressive at Elite 11 skills competition

2017 Elite 11 Finalist Carter Bradley

Like I said...big time!

Just saw that ESPN lists him as a 4-star recruit, hence the title change.

Always good to have the son of a football coach as a QB.

I just watched his tape, he has a cannon.

I wonder, did he come to Toledo so that he could have the chance to start as a true freshman??? The timing is right with Woodside graduating, and nobody seems to know whether or not Mitch G can throw.

He should be right in the mix.

Definitely in the mix. But he's also had the benefit of the best development that can be had. UT and similar schools compete when they can find those with the high potential who haven't YET had that development.

Finding competitive spirit, quality individuals and untapped potential is where these coaches have shown their skill so one of the other recruits may well have the better top-side after they benefit from college coaching.

Elite 11 Finalists are a different animal. No G5 other than Toledo has signed one.
The only uncommitted E11 QB is Tanner McKee, who is a devout Morman and going on a two year mission after high school. Stanford, then Alabama are at the top of his offer sheet with BYU trying to get a commit. McKee's got to February 7th to sign.

RE: Big-time 4* QB signs with Toledo
There’s a reason he signed with Toledo. If he devotes the time & puts in the work, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting by the 5th or 6th game. I could say the same for the other incoming QB from WV, who reminds me of Woodside in some ways.

And I think going with a young QB who can grow & develop is a smart choice. We’re going to be racing quite a few MAC teams who have already started down that path, and will themselves have the benefit of a more experienced QB for the next couple seasons, so no reason we can’t have another “Woodside” by 2020.

From what I've seen, only Nathan Rourke seems like a top level MAC QB.

I think, had he not been injured, that Ball State’s QB would be there, as well. And I don’t think BG’s young QB is all that bad...same for Akron’s. While they struggled a bit, they will now go into next season with more experience.

NIU & Western? Who knows...they were forced to start freshmen, but it’s also possible that we haven’t yet seen their 2018 QB, just like us.

Browns should get rid of Jackson and hire Gus Bradley former Jags coach. That way he can live in Ohio and see his son play. Plus Bradley could instill some discipline in the Browns. This is a BIG time signing to say the least.

That BG QB is darn good IMO. He's further along physically than Woodside at that age. He also demonstrated some difficult passes. Some head issues, a bit too emotional and loses plays but he's a true kid and he has a big brother there to keep him grounded.

I agree with the assessment that there is good potential in the league.

He can handle the high snap. ;-)

Shows adequate running skills to get out of trouble and pick up yardage. Needs to add sliding skills to his portfolio.

The BG QB had a career record night against our defense.

I think the one he beat out had a career night against our D the year before.
