RE: JMU to get Pitt transfer QB?
Really feels like Houston is doing what he did last time... bringing in competition. I'm not saying this guy is a lock because he isn't but he is a great addition.
Hopefully the added competition will bring everyone's game up and the right QB will be starting when week 1 comes around.

Good news, this post below is a concern he will need to be a team player in our house:
"..What sticks out to me with dinucci is when he was pulled for a few series in NC State game and he stood on sidelines and sulked. Where Browne had the headset on and appeared into the game and assisting. Dinucci is/was an individual, not a teammate. See ya.."

Hopefully what appeared as sulking was actually him being POed at himself.

hopefully he can leave his attitude behind with his transfer, certainly no room for such in what HCMH has built here and "lead by example"... other than that looks like a decent option he has game experience as well...let's see how it shakes out

RE: JMU to get Pitt transfer QB?
Well, the good news is that I'm not at all worried about that affecting the rest of the team. If it becomes an issue at all, Houston will either take care of it or he'll be off the team. That simple. The one thing you hear from every player at JMU is that it's all about the team and being a family. Hopefully, as 1998 said, it was just him being mad at himself and being young.

here are more observations by others:
"...He didn't just stand there an sulk, for much of the time he stood ten yards or more from anyone else on the team. I remember commenting at the time wondering if he had gotten hurt or something, because he was so far away from his teammates that it looked like he wasn't even on the team..."
"..I think the one thing I am going to miss about DiNucci were the multiple close-ups of him on the sideline while Pickett played, looking like a kid who had his iPad taken away from him. He looked nothing like a leader on the sidelines when he wasnt playing.."
Such attitude will not fly at JMU with HCMH at the helm!! just because he is an ACC backup QB transfer he must leave that attitude behind at Pitt and learn to lead by example at JMU, it should be a privileged to play at JMU not an option.

Houston wouldn't think twice about taking a guy if he even had a sliver of character issues. Not only that, but Houston probably isn't guaranteeing the guy anything.
Perhaps all the he needs is a new environment. Only time will tell. It did kind of remind me of another transfer by the name of.. wait for it... Billy Cosh. That guy came in like he owned the joint. If I remember correctly, he introduced himself to the other QB's saying something like wanting to meet the guys he was going to be beating for the job. We all know how that played out.
If he does nothing but make Cole and Gage better, than I welcome him on the team. If they didn't know there was competition for the spot, they certainly do now.

Maybe I'm too lenient but I don't think it's fair to judge DiNucci's or any Pitt player's behavior while Narduzzi is coaching that team. I'm also a VT fan (hey, I married into it) so I watch a lot of the ACC and Narduzzi is a grade-A a**hole. He is constantly screaming (not just yelling) at his players. He is routinely penalized for chasing down refs on the field to argue a call. He believe was fined for taunting a VT corner and has encouraged home crowds to boo opposing players. And if that's his public face I'm sure he' that much more of a bully at behind closed doors/practices and has created a completely toxic environment. There's a good chance DiNucci will flourish under a real coach and if he doesn't we've got a couple good QB options anyway.

Man some of y’all are something else. Kid says he’s coming to jmu and within 24 hours his character is already deemed unacceptable based on a few comments from some Pitt fans and one game.

What are you reading? All I've read is JMU posters linking posts from Pitt fans. We are trying to learn about the guy and I don't think it's out of bounds to post these comments. Nobody here is assuming this guy is an a-hole or doesn't deserve to be a Duke.
When we get a transfer, its not unusual for us to do our own scouting to find out what they say about the guy. We've been doing this for years.

I think QB and DT are the only question marks for next year, getting some transfers in those spots would be solid.
Marcus Hawkins no longer with team.
Is he the Freshman D lineman who enrolled early at JMU so he could participate in spring practice last year?

JMU to get Pitt transfer QB?
I’m glad that coach doesn’t just hand the starting QB job to the next guy in line without them outright earning it with their level of play.

Don't think it was mentioned, but this guy is coming in as a walk-on. Basically getting a P5 transfer for free.

Love the bargain bin! Wonder how we pulled that off? The guy was originally slated to go to Penn before Pitt called last minute. Maybe he got an academic schollie? Is that even possible?

maybe last chance U? Lets see how it plays out. Everyone was excited about the gamecock QB who ended up being a c@ck with no game.

Wow. That is quite a risk for him to go from a full scholarship to nothing.
Looks like he is going to have to earn his place on this team.
This is a complete win-win for Houston and staff. If he doesn't do well they've lost nothing. If he does do well, they will probably give him a deserved scholarship and have another experienced QB on the roster.
