You've earned the chance to finally relax. Do it. Thanks for your contributions at NIU.

I feel like he retires every year, make sure this one sticks Jerry, not worth it to die during a game.

I echo the sentiments above. My only caveat re his NIU tenure is that he would have handled his exit "announcement" from NIU team better. I will always remember him best for a spring practice game when he jumped atop a pile of sprawled Huskies.

RE: Jerry Kill steps down from Rutgers due to health concerns
sidebars to J Kill thread:

Wondering if his health and duties /obligations keep him from attending NIU Bowl game?

Also wondering if a Detroit QL Bowl reunion is in the works between Novak & Kill who JN recommended upon his own retirement from NIU ( the two musta had a personal connection) , and also AD Groth who continued to believe in Novak when his first two seasons were disasters....then raising NIU football out from the ash heap of college football......

secondly : kinda fascinating to consider the NIU-MN links formed after Kill and Huskies beat MN, Gophers hire away Kill, Kill leaves MN and eventually PJ Fleck arrives.

Lastly whatever became of all of Kills' long time and trusted assistants that followed Kill up every step of his coaching ladder?
