that's just a waste, imho.
Uh, just this season you guys completed a home and home with ULM of the Sun Belt. What were those two games, tune down games?
(a) you missed the point, (probably) just to be argumentative, (b) yes, at the risk of sounding pretentious, I would say that we considered that game to be a quite winnable, (c ) it may surprise you that the athletic department doesn't send the proposed schedule to me for approval, and (d) it was cute that you instantly scoured our schedule (over which I have no control) for anything that may have violated my common sense statement on OoC games because I hurt your feelings.
but since you seem to be struggling with the concept, let me approach it a different way; what do you accomplish if you
beat smu? nothing. what do you accomplish if you lose to smu? you are a g5 that just lost to another g5, and you automatically get dismissed as a struggling mid-major.
see how that works? nothing to gain, much to lose. I'll wager that you already knew all of that, but couldn't let it go because I said something besides, "that's tOtAlLy aWeSome and KEwl, dUdeS!".
college football is a minefield these days. latech is a cornerstone program in the conference. we
all have to be smarter, because there are forces at work that literally want to put us out of business -- if you don't believe that, just go ask uab.
