Lytrell Pollard no longer coaching at USM
Munz tweeted earlier today that Pollard has been hired at Ms Gulf Coast Community College as their DC. Considering he was on medical leave i feel like this points to something else was going on as to why he wasn’t coaching “on the field” this past season.

I wouldn’t read too much into it. It makes pefect sense that he’d make that kind of switch if he’s been dealing with health issues. He’ll be home a heck of a lot more and on the road a heck of a lot less as a JuCo coach.

agreed. For him to go from coaching to "taking a medical leave due to health reasons" to it never being reported that he resigned (or was fired) to being hired at MGCCC definitely doesn't have the appearance of the usual medical leave. Hopefully for his personal and health sake it wasn't something serious. At the same time hopefully his leaving doesn't make him have a grudge towards USM to where he would try and steer possible recruits away from us.

You do remember that the new HC at MGCCC is Jack Wright who was our OL coach in 2016 before he was let go? I am more concerned that he does not turn any good prospects away than Pollard.

Did not know that so thanks for pointing it out.
