Well most usf fans were expecting a ny6 bowl at the beginning of the season so this isn't that surprising.

RE: USF fails again
Contrast that to UCF selling their ENTIRE allotment in 24 hours.

And USF thinks the Big12 is EVER going to want them. Never. Only with UCF dragging them along is it a mere possibility. At this rate I think UCF needs to kick USF to the curb and forget the notion that we are a "package" to a power conference.

USF has NEVER traveled well. NEVER. UCF has ALWAYS traveled well.

I'm glad. Maybe this will teach Aresco that USF has had its fill of the Birmingham Bowl.

No team should ever have to go to that bowl more than once a decade, yet we get stuck with it in back to back years.

Good example of an informal boycott. 07-coffee3

I think I am probably one of the only people to ever say this... but I think Birmingham is a cool city. Nowhere near as bad as its reputation. The Avondale area is really cool, and there are a few good breweries in town.

To me, it's a grey, chilly dump. And we were just there last year! Made no sense at all to put us in that game.

We should swap USF with that commuter school in Georgia.

Spin it however you want but 1,000 tickets? Wow, lookout Sunbelt.

That is just sad for a team that has been in the top 25 for two years and won 19 games in two years. An enrollment of 50,000 you can only sell 1,000.

Amazing.

RE: USF fails again
You suck USF. Especially with the fact that you only sold 1600 last year too. Now contrast that to UCF once again. In 2007 and 2010, we brought 20000 to the Liberty Bowl. in 2009, we brought 20,000 to St. Pete. 15,000 to the Cure Bowl last year. 10,000 to the Fiesta Bowl.

USF has proven once again that they are an out and out embarrassment to the AAC, and, to be frankly honest, don't even deserve to be in the conversation for a move up to a power conference.

lf you honestly think that the Peach bowl, and a return trip to the Birmingham bowl, are something you can use for a legitimate comparison, then God help you... 03-lmfao

UCF has played in the St. Pete Bowl three times and brought over 15,000 each freaking time!

20,000+ to the Liberty Bowl.

You guys sold 1600 last year. And 500 to the 2008 St. Pete Bowl. And less than that to the International Bowl up in Toronto.

Man, you guys suck.

I was there for the bowl game last year... We went up to see the statue of Vulcan that overlooks the city. It was pretty cool! I thought the stadium was fine. I would hardly consider it as bad a bowl as many on this forum rage on about...

Wait ... I thought Football drove the bus here .. Pretty sure WSU sold more tickets to that for a road game in the Valley, let alone any post season game ... 05-nono

Stetson sells more than that on an FCS level. Hell, UCF traveled better than that when they were Division II and playing Carson-Newman and Fort Benning.

I like USF but this is terrible. It hurts the conference. No way better bowls will want to take a chance on the American when a 9-2 team sells 1,059 tickets to a game vs. a P5.

At this point in time I would rather kick USF out and replace them with Marshal or Southern Miss.
