Ozarks preview
They are 3-6, and had a 48-point exhibition loss to UCA. They likely will start a front line of 6-6, 6-5, 6-5, and have a 6-7 guy on the roster.

Dylan Gray, 6-5 senior, is the only player averaging double figures at 12.4 ppg. He also leads in rebounds at 7.0 rpg. Right at half his attempts are from the arc, where he shoots 36.7%. They have a couple other guys who shoot in the mid-30s percentage.

As a team they do not shoot well, and their defense is pretty porous. They are plus-2 on the boards.

Unless they just happen to get red-hot from 3-point range, this one ought to be over soon after it starts. We ought to dominate them completely inside.

RE: Ozarks preview
Even against a D3 defense we can't make 3s.

LOOKING AT THE STATS
Good game. We did what we ought to have done.
Good defense. Dominated the boards. Shot a very good percentage ourselves.

Here's a number I really like - even against a D3 team. 26 assists against only 8 turnovers!

All of a sudden Corcoran has emerged as a 3-point shooter. Where has he been?

What is the deal with Pippin?! He doesn't play a minute all season, then all of a sudden he has a great game.

Competition might answer those questions.

Pippins has not been dressed out until tonight. I have heard nothing official. But, grades were due in at UALR last Friday. My wife's guess was that he wasn't academically eligible. Seems like as good a guess as any.

RE: Ozarks preview
That sounds reasonable about Pippin.

And I agree, PTJR, that the competition made us look good. But some of those same things we did not do well against teams that were not a great deal better than Ozarks. (When you are grasping for encouragement, any straw will do.)
