Just talked to my Dad who is a season ticket holder. Has good seats at the Ted, 50 yard line premium seats at FF, and in the blue lot for tailgating. How in the world does he end up with tickets that are five rows from the top at Scope (they are at least next to the midcourt section)? Anyone else disappointed with their seating location?

RE: Norfolk State
I'm sure the ticket distribution for this one makes sense somehow. But looking at my tickets and where I sit at the Ted I have no clue what they did. Still, I'm looking forward to this one. Should be a fun environment.

I had the same question when I received my tickets. Premium seats in football and very good seats at the Ted but 2nd tier seats neat the baseline at Scope. Even looked on line to see if there were better seats and there were but on the other side of Scope. Hate to say it, but it influenced my decision regarding the recent request for contributions. With that being said, I am looking forward to the game and a great win.

Same here. 50 yard like FB seats, great seats at the Ted and we got stuck near the top in a corner. How the heck does that happen?

Same here. My seats at the Scope stink. Nothing in comparison to season tix location in both basketball and football. If our seats are worse than what’s on sale to the general public, I call BS. Season tix holders for ODU and Norfolk State should have gotten the best of the best. Perhaps Dr. Chandler has some insight. Very disappointed this time.

Is it correct that this game is not streaming anywhere?

Our and NSU's websites only list radio broadcasts.

We have 45 yard'ish seats at FF and pretty good seats at the TED. Our friends sit right behind is at the TED. Their picking order times for BB and FF were 10 minutes after ours. Our section at Scope is 203, theirs is 230! Both line up with the basket at opposite ends of the court!

Yes, please, Dr. Chandler.....explain??? If they want to p@#s of season ticket holders they couldn't have had a better plan.

RE: Norfolk State
Hey folks. This is a neutral site game (even though ODU is the home team) so the best seats were split between ODU and NSU. Preference was given to seating our season ticket holders closer to mid-court, even if it was higher up, rather than closer the court behind the basket. Hard to meet everyone's expectations when seating all our season ticket holders in what amounts to half a building. Feel your frustration and will share it with others. Hope everyone will bear with us for this one game and come out and support the team.

Keep in mind there are no suites or club seats in Scope, so all of those seat holders had to be incorporated into the lower level seating for this game. We also have player guests and students we have to accommodate in our seating allocation.

I’m still disappointed, but thank you very much for the explanation. Curious how many season ticket holders NSU has. The handful of times I’ve been over there, the turnout isn’t super robust to be polite. Im not sure they’d have the bodies for a “split”. I appreciate you being active on the boards and sharing.

Appreciate the answer but not buying it completely. People who have some of the best seats at the Ted and FF magically are not even able to be center court in the nosebleeds. Hidden away up in a dark corner of scope. It doesn’t add up. Interesting time to show that level of loyalty when you’re begging for donations.

Just took a look at NSU’s website and don’t see a home game with attendance listed at more than 2000 (this year). In fact, the last two home games are listed respectively at 381 and 284. I’m not sure I see much to split with.

Edit: this year qualifier

Dr. C-Thanks for the answers! We appreciate your filling in the blanks...more than once! I would guess we have at least double the season ticket holders than NSU. That is the biggest frustration for us.

I haven't been to Scope since the notorious post season game that the VB police took Bazemore away. Anyone remember what it cost to park under the arena? Also if there is a ramp or less steps one of the areas getting to Scope? I'm still not walking well after my surgery.

RE: Norfolk State

We get to pay a
$5 parking fee for the right to sit in our nosebleed seats. What a crock!!! The powers that be in athletics administration just don't get it!!! The list of snafu's just goes on and on. Aim High...oh, wait a minute, wrong sport...again.

Why exactly are we playing a neutral site game against NSU at a terrible venue when the game and the likely crowd could easily have been accommodated in our fantastic arena a couple miles away? Giving them half the seats when they probably are lucky to draw 1000 a game seems pretty silly. We need to value our basketball brand a lot more we do. It seems at every turn our men's basketball team is treated like it's low mid major. Aim Higher.

RE: Norfolk State
City parking for the game is $5 per vehicle. I don't remember where the accessible parking is at Scope...I assume it is in the underground garage. Neither school is holding parking, except for the working staff, but we were told the garage would fill up quickly (long before tipoff). Most fans can expect to park across the street in the City's surface lots.

We worked hard with the staff at Scope to provide a pre-game hospitality space so our donors can have an experience similar to what they have in the Big Blue Room at the Ted. Hope everyone who can, will come early and enjoy.

RE: Norfolk State
Plus they do next to nothing to excite those who continue to support. Yet, donate donate donate folks! There will be plenty of non-NSU season ticket holders sitting 5 rows from the court because they get half the building to sell? Yet, those of us who sit 5 rows from the court at the Ted get to use binoculars to see a “home game.” What a joke.
