Sanders is the man.
Randy Sanders maybe announced as HC as early as tomorrow according to my source. Sure hope he's right.

What a hire.

Exciting hire. Can't wait to hear who his staff will be.

Big shot in the arm for the program. We’ll see if it works out, but sounds good.

This isn't meant to be negative. Just wondering why this is such a great hire.

Never been a head coach. He’ll change offense/defense which hopefully fit ETSU personnel. Older. Seems like staying with in house person to mantain recruiting etc. would have been better solution.

Again not trying to knock the hire but not feeling the excitement which some of you are.

Just saying — program needs an offensive adjustment and a step forward in recruiting. Is Fulmer’s influence still present?

I’m unsure as to how you can have that opinion. Who on the current staff has head coaching experience? Sanders has been on two coaching staffs that won national titles and coached a Heisman trophy winner. I’m not sure ETSU could have done much better. Ask Oklahoma if your new head coach needs to have been a head coach previously to be successful. Neither Stoops nor Lincoln Riley had been a head coach before leading the Sooners.

Well, Ocai and Rader both have been head coaches. Not saying they are the answer but to maintain continuity i would think you could looked at that.

I’m not knocking Sanders I just not understanding the love.

I just want the new coach to bring in an exciting offensive game. Our offense was moribund this year. I hope he keeps Coach Taylor and the defense. Plus we need to recruit more Florida and Georgia players. I will support our new coach totally as we need to get that offense blocking properly and making first downs.

Carl Torbush had been a head coach. Not knocking Coach Torbush, a good man, but his record speaks for itself — and, at ETSU, a unique situation, he was headed down that same historic road.

I support Rader and Taylor, but I would have much rather O'Cain been fired as OC than hired as HC. That would have been a terrible decision. And Rader's head coaching experience was a D3 school. Offensive Coordinator at Power 5 D1 school or head coach of a D3 school... That decision is easy.

As far as maintaining continuity, that is something that we typically hear after a very successful season and a coach leaving for a better opportunity. We needed some new blood here- though I would support keeping some of our current staff (especially Taylor) if it works out.

Anyone have any idea what his staff might be like? A staff in football is really what makes or breaks a coach. He’s always coached at larger schools so I wonder who out there he has in mind? Is he going to try and retain some coaches.

Good questions that I think we all have right now. I am wishing the best for him and all of his coaches.

The response from the players on Twitter has been overwhelmingly positive. They are excited.

That’s good. But, will he try and revamp the roster for immediate help — the Kennesaw type approach?
