Western Michigan will play home games against Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Ohio. The Broncos will be on the road against Ball State, Central Michigan, Bowling Green and Miami

Very favorable MAC schedule

Looking at the MAC-E, Ohio might be a hard game. Miami is a wild card in terms of difficulty. Should be favored for BGSU.

Not sure we could’ve drawn up a more favorable MAC schedule than that.

Yep, pretty much what we expected. Then flip the home/away for all the same teams in 2019. Repeat cycle.

As long as none of those WR/Wassink injuries were catastrophic, we really ought to consider next year a real title run. A favorable schedule plus a ton of returning starters and major contributors.

Have to stay healthy!

RE: 2018 MAC opponents released
vs. Syracuse
@ Michigan
vs. FCS
@ Georgia St.
Non-conference: capable of going 2-2 (arguably even 3-1), but I think most likely to go 1-3.

vs. Eastern Michigan
vs. Northern Illinois
vs. Toledo
vs. Ohio
@ Ball State
@ Central Michigan
@ Bowling Green
@ Miami
Conference: capable of winning all of these, but more likely to go 7-1 or 6-2.

Realistically, 2018 season feels like our floor is 8-4 with great opportunity to win the West and another shot in Ford Field at winning a MACC.

And incorporate the RB's into our short passing game....

7-8 wins likely. Another bowl run, which is great.

RE: 2018 MAC opponents released
The most favorable schedule we have had in a while; although close to 2016. Michigan is only game we "should" lose. However, our disappointment this year wasnt a result of the schedule. We lost to both Akron and CMU at home. The other loses were more digestible loses on the road to good teams. I think we still should have won one or both of the Toledo and NIU games, and if we played this year anywhere close to our talent level we would have won both, but you can accept those hits. My point is that the schedule wont matter at all if we just continue to play games to be close, rather than be creative and aggressive every game, all game, regardless of our opponent. A newfound philosophy within the coaching hierarchy will be far more beneficial than a favorable schedule.

One of the better G5 schedules in the nation. Don't overlook Georgia State, that program is rising fast

RE: 2018 MAC opponents released
Obviously seeing how our season just played out, no game is a "gimme."

But I'm seeing some fear of Georgia State in this thread. They are in a bowl, sure, but they also lost to (4-8) Idaho by 2 TDs and to FCS Tennessee State.

The game will be Week #4, following our FCS patsy and enough time to work out early season kinks. If we lose to Georgia State, then I'll have a bad feeling about our MAC schedule. They are a long way from what Georgia Southern was when we lost to them.

I agree that Georgia St. and Syracuse are going to be harder games than a lot of people think. I don't expect us to win either of them if I'm being completely honest.

At least we are only playing one "guarantee" game (at U-M) to pay for non-revenue sports.

Other MAC schools - even NIU - aren't so fortunate.

And then there's the weeknight November games, home or away.

MACtion sucks.
