Dukes all white. Why can't they pre-announce this right?

Just the letters, J M U, is great. The crown logo decal does not look good. The Duke Dawg does not look good. My cousin played for Pitt and they had a similar logo in those days, a panther, and just like Duke Dawg, you could only distinguish a blob on the side of the helmet unless you could see it up close and had a little time to study it.

i like the look....but gotta agree - white out or not, gold would be superior here

The logo would have been kind of cool on a one time basis if you could see it at all. It took me having to pause a 65 inch TV on a close up to make out what it was. FAIL.

Hard to make out the helmet logo. You couldnt tell what the helmet logo was from the top of 405. Either that or I need to get my eyes checked.

I'm kind'a thinking had it been on a purple helmet it would have worked but as many have said, you cannot see this from further than 20 yards.

Maybe it was a good thing you couldn’t see the logo. Whoever had the idea should be demoted. A crown?
Why don’t we just let kindergarten kids draw something on the helmets. Their ideas and execution would be just as good.

I remember we used to lose when we wore white helmets, it's nice that those days seem to be over and we can move on to fashion design.

I think the idea behind these was to really exaggerate the white out for the game. I personally don't think this decal would look too bad on our purple or even black helmets. I think this strictly meant to be a special event uniform and it would never see a game outside of white out.

Indeed. I think it's a cool design and enjoyed it up close when the players were on the sideline (granted, I'm all of 25 ft from them), however, I knew instantly it was invisible on TV. They were really pushing the envelope on the whiteout, nothing more. Guaranteed they would never use this for a normal game. However, I wouldn't mind a purple helmet with the chrome gold crown.

Who thinks they got the idea from JMUSB? Absolutely love it as a shirt design.

On White???? Never. I can see it on purple.

Enough with the [color] outs. That **** is tired. Everyone has done it at this point. Please wear purple and gold.

The crown itself wasn't a bad idea. I don't think that logo actually looks that bad.
Here is my problem: I went to the game and was in the upper deck and had absolutely no clue what was on those helmets. I couldn't even really tell what the logo was when I saw the helmet on the jumbotron. I actually had to go on to twitter to see what the logo was. THAT is a problem.
Like others said, if it was in purple or purple chrome, I don't think I would have had a problem with it. But when you have an idea and take the time to do something different and people can't see it, that's a fail.

They looked fantastic on social media, and that's probably the most important part.

I liked it, would have liked it better if it was a purple chrome instead of silver for contrast.

I get why we do this... recruiting, the players, etc., but there is sooo much wrong with this.

1. The crown looks like ODuh
2. You can’t see it
3. Stop wearing white at home, it’s for the road
4. Silver is not a school color

All of these are good enough reasons together, but 1. is a good enough reason on its own to never ever ever do this again!
