Game against ranked foe TCU is coming up. Here is what the "Hark" online newsletter had to say about the game:

"Dec 22: W&M Men's Basketball vs. TSU
The Tribe takes on the Horned Toads of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Will the Griffins defeat the Horned Toads? Watch or listen to the game and find out!"

Don't you just love it when non-sports people write a blurb about sports? This writer (with, apparently, no editor) not only referred to them as TSU instead of TCU but called them the Horned Toads! (Also called us the Griffins but I won't comment on that one).

All of this will get straightened out in Ft Worth.

Is anyone going to this? @tribeintexas? I'm in Austin and am considering coming up for it.

I considered going although it is in Fort Worth area, but I am traveling for vacation. It would have been nice to meet you.

TCU one of the best teams in the country with a mainly veteran starting lineup. They should be undefeated when we encounter them on the road.

Hope we're getting lots of money for this game.

Flying back to VA from San Antonio the morning on the game.

Assuming TCU beats winless Texas Southern, on Friday two CAA teams will play 11-0 teams, with Hofstra playing Villanova. I wonder if there has ever been a day when at least two CAA teams played teams with at least 11 wins without a loss.

Adding to the weird ... the Tribe's next game after TCU is Hofstra... and Hofstra's next game after Nova is the Tribe. They can compare notes!

Latest RPI has TCU at #6. Also, Towson, Ohio St, UCF, and ODU all in the top 60.

TCU's offense is 12th in KenPom. W&M's defense is 332nd. Uh oh. For reference, Ohio State's offense is 56th.

My goals for Friday night:

1) Shaver has no post-exam roster announcements to make.
2) No one gets injured.

If that happens then

Wofford’s win in Chapel Hill is ample evidence that these money games can backfire. A win in Ft Worth would not shock me.
