RE: Old fb videos
Dear Friends,
I loved the Green Bay Packer look to our uniforms in the 1973 video. Those were my favorites of all time.

Off tooic but what is the story of the Wooden Nickel? I always see its remains by campus and I am amazed that a bar so near to campus would be closed.

in the early 2000s it was a shitshow with a $1.50 pitcher night that was always packed (i think wednesday nights). underage drinking was just fine there. it closed in the mid-2000s and re-opened for awhile, but the re-opening didn't do well.

being close to campus is nice, but i think people are so used to going towards Cross Street for food/booze. plus, it was a place that was strictly for getting obscenely drunk at 1am, which is not the type of place you go to for a burger at 1pm.

But they did have a walk up window where you could order a burger at 1am.
I don't drink, but I did order take out late night plenty of times.
I also have scary memories of very large spiders hoarding around the outer lights of that place. I hate spiders.

Having been born in Green Bay, grown up on the Lombardi Packers, and owning a share of the team - I could appreciate Boisture's uniforms.

But I could not understand the use of gold as it is not one of Eastern's school colors.

Then again, black is not one of ours.

RE: Old fb videos
Dear MajorHoople,
I can't say for sure, but our athletic director at the time was Frosty Ferzacca, who was formerly from Northern Michigan. Their colors were green and gold. I also think Ferzacca and Boisture wanted to create a new look at the time that would help change the image at Eastern. One also has to remember that Eastern only started to give athletic scholarships the year before Boisture arrived, 1966.
