The article incorrectly states that the DNC funded the Dossier. While they may have contributed after the fact, it was originally funded by a republican group going after Trump.

GPS shops opposition research to dems and HRC who pick up the tab. Check
Steele then recruited.

You are getting Fusion GPS confused with the fake dossier. The republican group did in fact use Fusion GPS until April 2016, but the fake dossier was not commissioned until the DNC got involved.
