I do understand about Troy, but Marshall always plays well in bowls. We also had our top offensive threat returning for the game. I think the Marshall v CSU game was close to a toss up.

Not just picking on you. A lot of analysts were off Marshall.

A 1999 bowl win has no barring on 2017. I liked the Stevens to Gallup combo better than anything i knew about Marshall. I watched a lot of CSU early in the year. They lost against the spread the last 7 of 8 though. I should have considered that. September CSU was not what i watched yesterday. Its a good win for Marshall no doubt.13-2 in bowl games is impressive.

Only a factor for guys that have been in bowl games before. 2014 and 2015 were bowl wins for Toledo but it didnt matter in 2016 when we lost to App state? And I respect Toledo. We had a great rivalry.. and imo..it was. I hated Jabba the Stutz... You hated the great nose miner... Chester Taylor vs Chad/Byron... France nearly knocking himself out by running into the goal post.... much respect sir!

Yeah, that's crazy. Totally different world we live in now with the bowls. I remember those MAC days where we only had one or two eligible teams.

That was in the era when you had to win it all to get a trip to Detroit and every bowl game meant something......unlike today. The very next year was when the GMAC bowl took Marshall to play ECU, freeing up the Motor City Bowl. I think after that the GMAC bowl became a MAC/CUSA bowl officially with our second straight trip down there in 2002 to face UL. While I like having more bowls for deserving teams in the G5, we all know there are too many, but at the same time if the SEC or whoever is going to have 10 tie ins, we have to do what we have to do to keep up.

MARSHALL... Come back home to the MAC... You can bring friends (WKU, MTSU, and James Madison). Could have North/South divisions and throw Ohio & Miami in there with you...
