You'd be surprised just how quickly attendance can fall once a legendary coach leaves and mediocrity takes his place. Memphis was in the top 10 in attendance for a long, long time. After Cal left, we still stayed in the top ten through Pastner's first few years, but once pure mediocrity set in, it de-railed fast.

There's nothing else to do in Wichita.

Which is why we won’t fade to nothingness when Marshall leaves.

Maybe not from an attendance perspective, but you could easily drop to RPI top 150 status. If it can happen to Memphis and UCONN it can happen to Wichita St. Locally I've watched NCSU and Wake Forest have their ebbs and flows, nothing about Wichita St makes them immune.

I like the addition to the league btw, but just saying.

I wish we could eat philly cheese steaks every night and sit and watch the Liberty Bell for hours.

RE: 12/12 AAC Basketball Games
Memphis, if nothing else, has learned how to close games. None of our wins are that impressive, but we're not gagging any of them, either. Our only 2 losses are to Bama in the opener, and to UAB on the road, where they always give us a good game. The rest we have managed to pull out.

We have a brand new team. Starting to play better. Not this coming Saturday though, lol (Louisville). We aren't that good yet.

Curious how that coincided with joining the aac.

That might work if the fans played the game. As it is, there’s nothing for the players to do either. Which is worse...

Which makes the last 8 years all the more puzzling. Amirite?

What do players do in Cincy for fun? Catch a Bengals game?

Lots to do in Cincy. It’s not a cow town in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy your inflated ranking while you can. You’ll be joining Memphis soon enuf.

RE: 12/12 AAC Basketball Games
Are you for real? Philly is a great town. Loads of history in places like Independence Hall/Park, Liberty Bell, and historic Reading Market. It has the NFL, NBA, MLB, and hockey. It has 6 D-I universities. The Museum of Art is massive and there are great smaller museums too. The zoo and arboretum are nice. There's a casino down by the river. You've got South Street for bars/live music and yes, late nite cheesesteaks. If you're a foodie, you have to hit Passyunk Avenue. Rittenhouse Square is one of the coolest neighborhoods that you don't see outside of the major/old cities. And Fishtown and Old City are two of the best neighborhoods for eating/bars on the East Coast.

Every time I go to Philly, it gets better. And, no, I am not one of those folks that thinks there's nothing to do in Wichita. I've never been there but I know that every city has something to offer but Philly is easily in the top handful of cities in America.

I've also been to Philly. Many times. The Temple elitist decided to jump in and take a swipe at ol' Wichita. So I just asked him what Temple players do on non-game nights? He has since disappeared. Oh well.
