I don't think you could cut through the irony of the above statement with a chainsaw...

Well, it's the truth. All the "honest mistakes" happen in the same direction.

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about obama?

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about hillary?

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about bill?
also when they do make a mistake they should talk about the correct information for the same amount of time they talk about the incorrect information with as much prominence.

Not gonna happen. Look at fake news cnn's retraction on the Jeff Sessions fake news story, for example. Scream the fake news and plaster it all over "BREAKING NEWS" bulletins for weeks on end, then whisper the retraction 6 months later and never mention it again.

Exactly!
SHS neglected to mention this. She needs to call them out on it when they get all sanctimonious about correcting their mistakes.

Is it really a correction to whisper oops for 2 minutes and drop the point completely when you promote a lie as big breaking news all day???

It's all part of their game. Like Killery stated Demons aren't smart. You feed them crap and they keep vomiting it out and re-eating it like dogs do. The retraction doesn't matter as it get thrown into the last page of their stories. The original lie keeps going and going and going like the Energizer rabbit.

Accosta has tried it a million times.. and it never works. That man is a pompous ******* of a windbag and thinks he's above the rules of things such as the press conference (anyone remember when Trump refused to call on him and he had a hissy-fit on air afterwards?)

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about obama?

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about hillary?

Has cnn ever had to retract a damaging story about bill?

If it goes both ways, have they ever had to retract a POSITIVE story about Trump or Republicans (or Democrats for that matter) in general?

That's really the issue.

First, they're 'the bad news'. I'm not talking about going out there looking for fluff, I just mean that news is driven by whom can break the biggest scare or scandal first, which leads to bad results like this

Second, we all know that retractions carry a small fraction of the impact of announcements. There are people out there today who heard the initial story and never heard the retraction... so they still believe it. There's an old saying about it taking 10 'atta boys' to make up for one 'oh spit'.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly.....
They're 'the news'. The biggest problem with Acosta's response and then his subsequent attempt to finally ask his question is that he was by his own admission, making news/responding to reports as part of what was supposed to be the White House press briefing, not the Jim Acosta hour. He's supposed to gather information as a reporter, not engage in debate or defense of his network. Asking his question is what he is supposed to do there... instead he chose to deliver statements. That's not acting as 'news'... it is acting as a show looking for ratings and defending itself on someone else's time as if it didn't have its own 24 hour platform to do that from.

News should be news. If that doesn't make money, then don't be news. We've blurred the lines unbelievably with people acting as gossip columnists under the protections of 'the free press'. I don't care if it's FOX or NBC or whomever else doing it, but when outlets are biased 10:1. I certainly don't expect the '1' to be the first to play it straight.

I think the problem may be starting to correct itself. You make enough mistakes and people stop believing you. Particularly when all of your mistakes lean one way.

Yep, either that or when folks finally figure out the "mistakes" weren't mistakes at all.

Is this a joke?

Why are ALL "mistakes" and redaction all flowing one single direction....AGAINST TRUMP?

If these were honest mistakes, then we would see them flowing in all directions, not just the ONE SINGLE DIRECTION meant to be negative against Trump.

We just finished a full 8 year term of Obama and NONE of these MSM "journalists" were having to redact mistakes on a daily basis that were negative press against Barry.

What changed this past year that now we suddenly have a landslide of daily redactions and corrections? Someone they clearly disagree with became POTUS.

It should be far easier for you to see these are not honest mistakes. The facts speak for themselves.

I suspect you clearly see that now.

nope, I don't do conspiracies. If Mrs. Sanders has proof that journalists are intentionally filing false stories, she should show it.
