RE: Challenge
This season was a delight! The defense was surprisingly a kick a** squad. We had a rookie QB rise to the starting role and despite his flaws, he is young and may yet become a great QB for this team in the years to come!

Joe Novak, 12 and under is pretty good in terms of turnovers a game. Huskies are a third done with the season if they end up averaging under 12 that’s pretty darn good!

Really excited to see DB Daniel Isom back next year. He played pretty damn good as a true frosh...plus he will have 3 more years. 04-rock

Another football positive :

NIU now has an indoor practice facility. Imagine preparing for a bowl game outdoors or in some makeshift space off campus.

Raising an interesting sidebar.

Given the absence of wind, rain, wet turf, cold temps , shadows/setting sun etc . when playing outdoors, so does playing inside Ford Field and looking to ceiling /lighting/supports/backgrounds during punts/kickoffs/FGs change much from a player's perspective?

NIU is ranked 25th in the country out of all 351 D1 basketball teams in turnovers at 11.1 per game

NIU is playing Against Duke in Detroit. Best venue for a Bowl game. The second home of NIU FB. This is clearly a home field advantage indoors!

We get Kyle Pugh back next season. He was well on his way to first team All MAC before the injury. Kenny Robinson “aka Lil Kenny” will get to show his talent( 6 ft 5 inch Wide Receiver)

RE: Challenge
Unfortunately current pack of Huskies have little familiarity with Ford Field.
Home field advantage an illusion unless NIU fans turnout is larger than usual in Motown and unlikely .

++ Max Scharping just named Academic All American.

The OOC schedule is awesome. We thought our OOC was tough this year; we should have beaten BC, Beat Nebraska, could have beaten ranked SDSU. The HUskies, on a good day, can hang with just about anybody. Remember the Ohio State game? I'm not one for moral victories, but damn, I thought we had it and that would have been the upset of the decade.

I really, really, really hope we upset FSU next year. I despise FSU, and I wlll be at that game. A Huskie victory would mean that I could die a happy man (after trash talking some Noles fans, of course)

take some ear plugs so that incessant chanting doesn't drive you into madness!

I think it has more to do with the surrounding cast.

Having a guy like #6 approaching kids may be helping.

But unless you are Nick Saban or Urban Cryer I am sure that can be said for the majority of teams.

I meant to say the program has gotten better.... Having Stingily, and Jordan definitely helps. Guys that have some professional ball history. Millennial coaches know how to speak to millennial kids.
