He visited his sister there while he was in highschool and after seeing what a shithole the place is he declined all visits to GS.

Meanwhile, we hire your strength and conditioning coach and he says in an interview that Georgia Southern’s facilities are leagues above the other schools he’s worked for including App. To each their own.

Just another example of App doing more with less.

How about some actual pictures? I've been in your new end zone building. In the locker room, training room and upstairs. Sat in the opposing teams box which was nothing more than a balcony off of a office. It's a very nice facility, but falls way short of App's Athletics Center.

I’ve been inside App’s athletic facility too and I’ve seen the cracks in the ceiling from the genius that thought it was a good idea to put a weight room on the second floor. Wasn’t impressed at all. The opposing teams box is much like the opposing teams locker room. It’s not meant to be something special. We’re you expecting champagne and caviar?

In what way? The FOC is bigger with a bigger weight room, and is for football only and not all sports.

The FOC is probably one of the nicest buildings in FBS for football...atleast the G5 and it is Football only.

Hell that weight room pic is from Iron Works, it's not even from the FOC. Didn't realize how nice it looked these days, and that we're not using platforms anymore.

Depends nationally where they were more than conf but it would have helped.

Yeah I mean there's not much difference between say the 80th and 70th ranked classes. But a difference between 80th and 50th will show up on the field.

Huge jump from the amount of talent in 80's and 60's the AAC is usually closer to the 60's it is not a coincidence the best recruiting G5 is the highest rated one....

Or they must be as good as Sat just getting the right "fit" lol.

Some iced tea and brownies would have been good! Pictures 2 & 3 are from your Recreation Activity Center which is NOT an athletic facility. BTW, we have one of those too (https://urec.appstate.edu/student-recreation-center).

Yea it was pretty stupid to put that weight room on the second floor and many of us voiced our displeasure with it. Thanks Charlie Cobb. All that will all be remedied with the new North Endzone project scheduled for completion prior to the 2020 season. New strength training room, athletic training rooms, locker rooms, a sports medicine room, coaches’ offices, team meeting rooms, a retail store, ticket office, banquet and dining space, a catering kitchen, a 9,000-square-foot orthopedic clinic and 1,000 club level stadium seats. That can't be built until a new new track & field facility is built, probably on the old Watauga High School site. Good bet you'll see a new softball stadium and indoor tennis facility built up there as well. App is on par with most in G5 with KBS, although we could use some more seats, the Athletics Center and the Holmes Center. We are way behind the rest of the conference in Olympic sports facilities. Should be in good shape in a couple of years. Coach Smith wants to make some needed upgrades to Smith Stadium and I'm told those are in the works as well. The next 2-3 years should see some dramatric improvement in facilities at App.
