April/May - those really aren't valid offers in January, especially after the early signing period we have now. If they are visiting an SEC school one week and an SBC school the next then you can claim you beat an actual P5 offer.

These are great recruits, nothing to defend, just don't pretend like you went head to head with an SEC school in January.

Good luck filling out your classes, the conference needs everyone to perform well in December and January.

I don’t think anybody said we beat an ACC/SEC team.

It seems you've got more than just Iowa State to worry about.

Salt, nope, just a reality check. This started with GAST17 listing 10 P5 offers for a player. Those offers were not valid when the player committed.

Congrats on getting some great players this late in the season.

wow some cranky posters here. you know who you are.

These two players had loooooooong list of offers and I only posted the notable ones to avoid redundancies. I didn't make up their offers. They also have offers from great G5 programs. The main point of listing other offers was to show that these recruits were perceived as solid FBS talents from numerous college scouts. THAT is only thing that matters to me. As few others pointed out, I never said we out-recruited players against P5 schools head to head in equal circumstances. We will never know for 100% why they chose GSU over other respectable programs (but I'm glad they want to be panthers) and I only speculated some possibilities.

Did I address everyone's concern? are we good?

I do believe this, that if recruiting is any indicator of future success on the field, the East is going to dominate the West!

Did an East team, or a West team, have the highest rated recruiting class in the Sun Belt this year?

I don't think that question can be answered yet.

When the East has 5 of the top 7 recruiting classes (granted its not over), doesn't matter who the top recruiting team is when judging the whole conference, especially when the difference between 1-4 is so small.

Exactly, this could change a bit. I don't think we'll see any huge swings at this point, but there will be some shifts. Gotta let the dust settle.

I think we need to get Seminole Indian to weigh in, since he is a talent guru.

RE: 2018 Class FB Recruiting Thread
Way too early for anybody to be talking recruiting smack. Going to be a decent bit of shifting as 247 is slowly crawling through players and re-evaluating them. One example is Elijah Campbell who was originally rated like a 76 on our site until they re-rated him AND added his rivals profile score which boosted him up to an 81. It was enough to move us up a spot in the conference rankings. I know we have at least two guys who have signed with us already whose scores are below 77 that have actual scores of close to 80 once their rivals profile scores are added, not to mention we have Jawaski Webb who doesn't even have a grade yet so he's currently worth 0 points.

Lot's of shifting to happen in the next two weeks, some people will have scores that go up, others will have scores that go down. Another example is Jaden Moreland who recently had an 83 score now has a 78. His profile still had his old scout score and his rivals score which was a combined 83, the scout score got removed and he was given a default rating of 76 by 247. His 76 from 247 and 81 equivalent from rivals gives him a composite score of 78. If 247 goes back and re-evaluates him he may go back up to an 80+.

So just be patient.

Cajuns didn’t even have a coaching staff in place until one week before signing day. We will have a small class, but we did pick up a commit from the Mississippi 6A POY today.

Either way ONE cycle does not define a team if you land a top three than follow it up with a bottom two for three years you still are going to suck likely. Recruiting on the field shows up with multiple strong classes not one. Tyson Summers dug us a hole last year and Lunsford is on fire the last month. Lots of Tyson guys did not sign in Dec for some reason my gut tells me a lot of the Tyson commits are not with us anymore...Give us an opportunity to upgrade because Tyson was about as bad as it gets in recruiting.

Hopefully 24/7 will square away the team talent rankings as this is better than going off recruiting classes. It only counts the kids rankings that are actually on the roster not the high three star guy that signed and flunked out the first semester. That is where you can talk some smack.
