It was a great game! What a throwback to the old days. It had everything, no quit, lousy weather, perseverance, ground and pound, and it came down literally to the last second.

This game was the last thing I ever watched with my dad. I was 18 and graduating Navy basic training at Great Lakes. My parents drove from St Louis to Waukegan through a snow storm to see me graduate. We said our goodbyes at the rec center after the game, and they left. He died three weeks later at age 40. This game has always been special to me. My only son-in-law is in the Army, so even though I eventually retired from the USAF, I lean green now.

Agreed.

Easily one of the best games of each season. Noone loses this. The clock just runs out on someone.

The irony of the cadets unis considering the conditions made me think of you. Navy gave another one away.

Navy did give another one away. Missed an opportunity when they had 2 receivers wide open. Only put three on the board after the QB scampered down to the ten where the Army linebacker stopped him with a shoe string tackle. Finally two motion penalties on the final drive which backed them up for the final 50 yard field goal which was long enough but wide left. Maybe Bobby Bowden was sitting in the stands to haunt them.

It'd be cool if the American could get Army and Air Force into the conference. Any chance that either school would jump on that?

I really doubt that Air Force has any interest in the AAC or being in the same conference with Army and Navy.

It's the ONLY CFB game I make a point of watching! I have no ties to either academy, but I root for Navy.

Army Navy couldn't have this special timeslot of they shared a conference
