Looking toward the semifinal
Still soaking in this huge win while hoping my voice returns before next weekend. There are a few things that we have to improve on if we're going to win the next one.

1. O line needs to do better in protecting Schor. Might be tough to do with AJ done and using freshmen.

2. D needs to be able to pressure the QB. I'm not sure why that's disappeared. I feel SDSU's QB could pick us apart if they get by UNH today.

3. How about lining up under center when it's 4th and 1.

4. Need to stop the stupid penalties. I like Moreland but he's lost control the last 2 weeks with bad penalties.

Can't wait til next weekend.

+1000 on #3 I was yelling this at the TV last night. All the rest are equally as important. Luckingly, we will be at the Semi-game to scream in person next week!

The thing I would add to your list for improvement is attendance. The way the attendance is regressing, and with the students evacuating campus I have little optimism.

I’ll be driving 6 hours from NY. Twice in three weeks. What a time to be alive.

What is the reason for this?

Attendance isn't regressing. Playoffs are always tough when it comes to filling up the stadium. Especially Friday night games.

I don't think attendance is "regressing," it's just hard to get non-diehards to playoff games.

Some of the reasons:
- Short notice on times/dates
- Prior commitments (Holiday parties, travel coming up, already taking days off for the holidays)
- Students have finals next week, some have them today
- Cold weather
- Time needed for travel to a Friday night game

I believe SDSU has the best QB we'll face all year in terms of complete package. Lauletta is terrific. The guy last night was too. But, the SDSU guy has a different gear with his feet that if he gets an opening, he can take it the distance. We haven't faced a legit QB all season with his abilities to both run and throw like he can. We must contain each end and collapse the pocket in the middle like NFL teams "try" to do against Russell Wilson (Skins in fact surprisingly did it very well in their unexpected win at Seattle earlier this season). I think we will assign at least 1 LB to spy the QB at all times for when he wants to tuck it and go. Getting sacks on him will be very difficult because of his escapeability.

Do we know if AJ is done for the year? Hadn't seen anything on the board yet? Any intel on Kloo, Jackson or Oliver's injuries from yesterday?

Houston said in the postgame presser yesterday that Bolden has had surgery and has finished his career at JMU.

Somebody answered it already in the injuries thread, but HCMH stated in the postgame presser last night that AJ is done for the season. Torn meniscus.

This from JMU Sports twitter a moment ago...

JMU Ticket Office
Start planning to be in Bridgeforth Stadium for next Friday/Saturday's FCS semifinal game! Game date to be announced late tonight.

Tickets will be available on http://JMUTickets.com Sunday morning.

Was curious when we might find out whether we are playing Friday or Saturday. I guess they'll wait until all games are decided today.

Rumor going around among at least some of the players was Friday night. I've heard that mentioned several times, but not sure how concrete it may prove to be.

Might help attendance at BFS. Any students attending will have to hangover (pun intended) after exams anyway whether Friday or Saturday. Might - and I stress "might" because who knows at this point - get more alums/fans/locals to come out if on Saturday. I dunno.

If it's SDSU-JMU as expected, I think it will be a much better game than Softies/Kennesaw at NDSU. Now, whether ESPN sees Friday night or Saturday noon as the better time slot, we'll see. I know with graduation ceremonies scheduled for Saturday morning, JMU administration is likely hoping for Friday night.

Dang...that's a bummer.

Combined w/ graduations from last year and injuries from this year, Schor and Stinnie are the only offensive starters left from last years championship game.

A profound observation indeed. The offense played one of its better games last night. When we were up 300+ total yards to WSU's just south of 40 total yards at halftime and we were only up 10-7, it made me shake my head in disbelief. With that domination in yardage you'd think we should be leading more like 24-7. Almost came back to bite us with the missed opportunities in the 1st half. Hopefully, the offense builds off last night and puts points on the board in the 1st half next week - if it's SDSU as expected, we're gonna need 'em I'm sure.

Anyone who thinks attendance is regressing because of students wasn't at that game on Friday. They were 60% of attendance.
