Usually when it snows, it doesn't stick to the ground.

In 1973, there was some snow on the ground for the entire month of February in our yard. And we lived in the southern part of Houston. There was a heavy snow at the start and at the end of the month.

Only one from 79? My Dad was there and snowed in at O'Hare during that one. I was snowed in January 1 of that year. First two flights got cancelled and then spent 2 hours on the O-hare runway when we finally got out. I think those were only the 2nd and 3rd times O'Hare had ever been closed for snow.

There's still snow in a few spots scattered all about. It's incredible...
