I think you'll get along with Tiger fans just fine, then. Welcome, and have fun during your stay in Memphis!

I will be at work as I'm a weekend warrior at a local Des Moines hospital but I will be the only one in the hospital wearing blue!
All the nurses wear what my daughter calls “Tiger Blue” scrubs at her hospital.
My scrubs are a dark navy blue. :)

Any initial disrespect you felt was the combination of our bowl game being a true road game, more than a belief that Memphis was below us. There had been talk of playing Mizzou in this game, and that's an old trophy game for us, so people were excited about that. With that all in mind, the draw initially felt like a slight to us.
Given how many were bringing, and the fact that you will have a ton of fans (as opposed to Tulsa our last go round), it's going to be a wild and unique atmosphere. I strongly prefer going to a city with a great music, food, and bar scene over say Orlando.
Your offense looks amazing, your defense looks pretty bad, and I think this sets up to be a wildly entertaining game. We have arguably the best win in all of college football, but we've lost a few games where we coulda shoulda won. Hard to tell which ISU team show shows up. From what I can tell, Memphis plays the same game pretty much every week.
Looking forward to a hell of a bender, and hopefully a Cyclone win. I'll have fun either way.
What is going on with your QB situation? It looks like your former starter has decided to transfer due to some kind of medical problems. But, whoever you have playing QB now seems to be doing a great job.
Park, the guy transferring, hasn't played since the UT game. We were 2-2 at that point. He clearly has some mental health issues. Hopefully he gets help.
Kempt, a 5th year senior who had never played a meaningful snap in his career, took over against OU, much to our surprise. Freshman Zeb Noland had been the back up. As you know, we beat OU with Kempt. He's smart, accurate, and rarely makes mistakes. He has a weak arm, and is not athletic. Prototypical game manager. He's an effective leader of the offense, but won't make flashy plays with his arm.
He got dinged up against WVU, and his aggravation reached the point where we hadn't to pull him for Noland in the second quarter against OSU. Noland, who had looked good in garbage time against KU, flung the ball all over the field and drove us down to the 3 for what was incorrectly ruled an INT on the game tying score. Noland started against Baylor and made some brilliant throws in a fairly conservative game against a bad team. He also made some really poor decisions that a better team would have exploited.
Kempt came back for the Manhattan Screw Job and played well enough to win. I won't discuss that knife in the back assault any further.
My guess is Kempt will start, and we'll lean heavily on the run game (our RB is the best RB you haven't heard of). I would assume our strategy will be to play keep away and eat clock with the ground game. If he struggles, Noland is built more for a shoot out. You may see both.
Thanks for the information. We have had the same QB the whole season and he has played pretty good....except for the first UCF game. Then he threw an interception in the 2nd OT vs UCF for the Championship game. All I can say about that is...UCF is a really good team and has gone undefeated this season. If we are going to lose, that is the team to lose to. I think they are ranked #10. This should be an excellent well matched game. Memphis folks are great. You will like being here. Feel free to wander through TIGER LANE our tailgating area. You will feel welcome.
The group I'm with bought 3 Tiger Lane parking passes. We'll be all up in that.
if you are looking around the town...don't let anyone try to sell you a free copy of the Memphis Flyer.
They do that to out of towners sometimes.
Memphis has some great bar-b-que places.
Some you've heard of (Rendevouz, Central, Corkys), another you may not have (The Bar B Que Shop).
It has some fine entertainment venues on Beale.
My favorite was Silky O Sullivans.

RE: Iowa St sells all 15,000 tickets
Just curious. ISU sold their 15,000 ticket allotment and Memphis sold 13,000. There was 25,000 presold which meant Stub-Hub or the like probably has those.
Why did ISU get 2000 more allotted tickets if the numbers are correct? Or did we get equal allotment and are lagging behind by 2000 at present?
Regardless, glad to have them visit Memphis. GTG

A bunch of the folks I went with went to the 2012 Liberty Bowl, so I think they kind of have a plan. Silky O'Sullivans has come up more than once.
