Who does he remind you of, Aunt Bea?

Oh, that's around 3 decades before my time.

The group of miserables on blutos board(that I quit by the way) coined the phrase.

It is supposed to insinuate that Josh is/was like a child.

Moreover, a goofy little kid like Opie Cinningham from The Andy Griffith Show.

This same group swore up and down that Tubby could coach with me telling them they were dead wrong daily.

They have the can't help it's.

As somebody who watched that travesty first hand, let me clear the stadium full of straw men in here.

GT is playing at Wofford because Wofford is opening a brand new state of the art arena payed for and named after their alumni that owns the Carolina Panthers. In addition to fighting the Falcons for fans in Upstate SC, this is a big part of the reason the Panthers training camp is at Wofford's football stadium. It is a nice facility, particularly given what Wofford is. Wofford was willing to forego quite a bit of "paycheck road game" money to get home games at the new arena. UNC is playing at Wofford next year as well. And I suspect the place will be 50/50 baby blue, because GT fans were about 1 out of 5 of those at Wofford's place, and that's with GT having an obviously bad and depleted team.

GT was playing without Josh Okogie, their best player and a potential All-American caliber player. He has a broken finger which is also infected.

While GT didn't lose any elite players last year, they did lose Josh Heath, Quinton Stephens, and Corey Heyward who were all competent ball handlers even if they weren't good shooters. And Heyward was a legit ACC caliber defender, even if he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. And Stephens was a streaky shooter. While he wasn't reliable night in and night out, he could go off for 16+ if he got hot. They could all direct traffic and farm assists to Lammers/Okogie/Jackson. Well all the competent ball handlers not named Okogie and Jackson are now gone. And oh yeah, thanks to some really galling NCAA bull**** that I'm sure you're all aware of, Okogie hasn't played a game yet with GT this season and Jackson has only played three or four games now this season. Chemistry and experience built up with the team and it's experienced ball handlers and talented players so far this season: ZERO. There's a true freshman out there handling point every play for GT right now. Unless that true freshman is a NBA lottery pick (he aint) that's obviously not going to go well particularly early on.

Fletcher Magee for Wofford played out of his mind down the stretch. Every time Wofford desperately needed a three to stay within reach he would drill it. The basket Wofford made to tie the game with about 90 seconds left? He stopped, rolled back away and then pivoted and hit a fade away three from NBA range. The basket Wofford made to go ahead with about 50 seconds left? He was playing a screen that was damn near half way to mid court and he just shot it right there at the screen point -- with a taller defender in his face -- and drilled that too. That little b*stard couldn't miss down the stretch. He's a senior, they honored him that night, he has a chunk of the Wofford record books, and this was his Super Bowl, World Series, and March Madness all rolled into one.

GT was shooting hot all night and finally decided to go cold down the stretch at the precise time Magee couldn't miss anything he heaved up. Bad combination. Lammers is still getting over respiratory junk, so he was gassed at the end of the game. Okogie still out. That leaves either the true frosh at PG or a rusty Tadric Jackson to try to generate offense. The true frosh had gone cold and Tadric did hit some big shots but unlike Fletcher Magee he did still miss down the stretch some.

The indictment to be made against GT from this game is just how damn empty the talent cupboard is from Gregory and how Pastner hasn't been able to restock fast enough. Still waiting for some more lights out recruits Josh. GT needs at LEAST four or five more seriously talented players before this is anything other than a patchwork quilt barely holding together.

Next time just ask me instead of using the box score as an ink blot test to project your own agenda/bitterness/resentment onto.

Well, at least you didn't lose to Grambling State or anything.

Shows just how thin the margin for error is without Okogie. Have one or two key players with an off night and you can lose to anybody.

I suppose it's possible. Doubtful - but who knows with where we are right now.

FWIW, Sagarin and KenPom both say we'd be favored.

But neither factored in their equations a team shooting 40% from 3. 9 for 29 inside the arch but 12 for 30 from outside.

I'm actually pretty confident that both include 3-point shooting in their algorithms.
