Based on the uniforms displayed, looks like NIU will be the home team.

Did Carey sound somewhat interested in the game 48 hours later?

I thought he did really well. Great job highlighting Allen and making the connection with Kenny.

I thought Carey was 100% better than I have seen him in the past. He is learning...

I thought he sounded fine, too. I'd bet he was reminded how he should conduct himself, and he came off fine. Both coaches sort of had a facial expression that they were smelling the farts of the other coach.

Yup, Carey was much better today, I thought he did a great job. Like someone mentioned earlier, Coach Cutcliffe is a hard act to follow, he's a total class act and great all around guy.

Someone tweeted Frazier about Carey's lack of excited on Sunday so I bet he definitely got the message from the top haha

No offense, but can't imagine him not being better after STF undoubtedly spoke to him. One would hope that handling interviews is something a fifth-year head coach would no longer need to be "learning." Can you imagine if you could substitute his tone and demeanor from today in place of the first interview?

Cutcliffe though looked like he wasn't happy about being there. Maybe that's how he looks all the time, I don't know. Don't think he cracked a smile once.

Do a google image search and there's like two smiles in 19 photos. I thought he did crack a smirk while re-telling his "Jim Bob Cooter" story. Perhaps the earlier post about the two coaches smelling each other's farts is true.

I EXPECTED VIDEO OF PRESS CONFERENCE - NOT PHOTOS.

CUTLIFFE LOOKS MORE LIKE A COLLEGE PRESIDENT THAN college FOOTBALL COACH -- THEN AGAIN looks and stature are deceiving for neither Lou Holz nor TOM LANDY Were IMPOSING COACHES WHO LOOKED more LIKE GUYs WHO NEVER PLAYED A DOWN BEYOND SOPHOMORE YEAR IN HS WHICH IS UNTRUE.

Carey has been fine with the press all year. Any time I listened to the Inside Huskie Football show he was fine. He's a football coach...he's not going to entertain you if he doesn't have to. People on here are crazy.

yes but in this age of instant information distributed at a moment's notice, everything anyone in public eye sez or does is scrutinized beyond measure.

Coaches expect players to say the right things in public and likewise is true for today's coaches. It's a cruel and gottcha world.

Every effort and awareness should be made NOT to step on your own peepee - unless your are the President and have surrogates to quickly deflect and minimize damage.

I understand the commentary and response after his bowl comments earlier this week...he was obviously too blunt with that response. My comment was more directed toward the point that as far as I can tell he's been perfectly fine as far as other media responsibilities...he's fine with pre-game/in-game interviews, does a fine job on the radio show, does a fine job on other radio interviews, etc. 99.9% of football coaches aren't going to give you Lane Kiffin theatrics. Does anyone think Bill Belichick or Gregg Popovich are media darlings?

Yes and always a good idea with the scrutiny to not say you are not pumped to be there, that could give the impression you are not pumped to be there.

I agree that other than the bowl comment he does alright in media stuff now.
