Piggies on Hogville board are salty
Some claim the couldn't risk hiring a guy with character issues like Norvell (yes, the same school who employed Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino). Some say they missed their chance to get Norvell. Some say no other school with an opening mentions MN for its vacancy and there must be some reason.

But, not 1 of them thought the reason might be that Norvell didn't want to go to a school where your best hope is to edge out Miss St & Ole Miss for 5th place in the west.

Salty pigs also means its time for a country ham and biscuit

From what I read, seemed like the majority favored Norvell over Morris by a wide margin.

Memphis fans will find out soon. If what I heard is true and it came out in vetting then it will be made public. Too many hiring committee members are being asked questions about why he was passed over. They're not going to take too much heat and it will come out. I'm willing to bet his new contract has a few clauses in it that will make it easier for Memphis to save face. Supposedly it isn't gambling.

Very Salty!

Maybe he didn't want to be like Dana Altman and get freaked out calling the hogs and then change his mind.

I had the same thought. I just see them asking future coaches if they can call the Hogs. And those coaches looking at them and rolling eyes.

If Norvell keeps winning, I really couldn't care less what is in his closet.

Oh for F*cks sake, this is the same school that interviewed Kiffin within the last 48 hours. A brooks road hooker doesnt have the red flags on their background check that compares to Kiffin. So they can spare us the "red flag".

Get's me to thinking...

Maybe he was having an affair with a University of Memphis student athlete?

Maybe he's been lying to the University about past transgressions...

Maybe payments to players...

Oh, wait, that is all Arkansas this past decade.

Basically they LOVED and ADORED him.

And were willing to sell their theoretical pig souls to land him.

And now he is kind of a scum not worthy of pigs.

RE: Piggies on Hogville board are salty
my 2 cents

The Arkansas squad returning was subpar, they were playing walk-ons on the O-Line. It was going to be a tough rebuild project.

Norvell could stay at Memphis 1-3 more years and kill it here. And wait for a bigger program job to open. Why go to Arkansas and struggle with fan expectation when you finish 4th in the SEC west every year if your end goal is a bigger program.

Who knows, Norvell might be really happy here and the raise he got was just the beginning and he plans on building Memphis into a TCU like team. And if he does this, he'll get paid power 5 money staying at Memphis.

Agree.

More money and possible prestige at Arkansas, but more likely languish in lower half of SEC.

He is taking a risk, but a few more years of success here, and screw an Arkansas, wait for a Texas.
