WBB vs Liberty
Ladies play a rare mid-week game against what has traditionally been a pretty good basketball team. I am hoping the women can take what they are learning every game and come out with intensity.

7:00 tip-off at the Convo. Hope to see a good crowd there.

RE: WBB vs Liberty
I made the trip back and forth from Richmond for almost every game for several years so I know that tired feeling after a game. Hopefully they will get a win and make the trip back home a little easier for you!

RE: WBB vs Liberty
The girls should be fired up and ready to go after Sunday. They played well.

I don't like Liberty in the least. From where we sit I've seen a lot of dirty play out of them. Not the way "Christian" girls should play at all. :(

Logan Reynolds is nothing but hustle. Everyone else looks to be moving in slow motion compared to her.

Dukes up 30 - 25 at the half. These are two pretty evenly matched teams.

RE: WBB vs Liberty
This is the balance we were talking about the Dukes needing prior to the start of the season. There's no doubt we don't have the athletes we once had, but I believe we'll be fine as Coach O matures as HC.

I like this group of girls, but it's clear that we are still a couple players away from being able to win a couple games in the NCAA tourney.

Final 58 for the Ladies and 47 for the Flames. Not bad, but have a ways to go to get to where we were 4 or 5 years ago.

RE: WBB vs Liberty
It wasn't pretty but it was a win.

Positives: Logan's sparkplug play gave the ladies a lift when they needed it. Kayla had several blocks and Kelly had a couple as well. Lexie had a good evening and seemed more confident out there. Four Dukes in double figures. We all still have our hearing after listening to the lone shrieking Liberty fan whenever JMU was shooting free throws. Props to him for his confidence, though.

Negatives: Dialing it in almost the entire fourth quarter. Some of their passes went to nobody, no spark, no hustle. I am sure they heard about it in the locker room after the game. Free throw shooting, after some real positive strides the last couple of games, went out the window. 46% won't do it most evenings.

But....a win is a win is a win. Ladies head up to New York for a Saturday game against St. John's. Looks like game will be available on ESPN3.

RE: WBB vs Liberty
Good win, although the ladies looked pretty tired in the 4th Q. No wonder, after the Florida game, and with finals looming! I'm a little concerned about Kamiah, who took some hard falls and came up limping pretty badly after the second one. Coach caught her coming off the floor when he subbed her out and had a talk with her, but she seemed to shake it off. She is tough as a rawhide bone!

Liberty is definitely not as dirty as they once were, although that ^%$#@! in the balcony opposite the pep band made me want to go up there and throttle him. Someone on the Convo staff had a come-to-Jesus meeting with him at halftime, apparently (we saw them take him out) and he was a little better thereafter. We noticed that a couple of their girls (not all) extended a helping hand to our players when they fell, especially if they were the ones that caused the fall. I've always liked that kind of sportsmanship; it's usually taught early on, not in college.

My takeaways: Everybody was tired after Saturday, but Kelly was the most tired. By the 4th she could barely get her arms up and I was wishing Coach would put Devon in, even with her 3 fouls. Logan was amazing, scrappy and seemingly everywhere on the court. The only faster player was Liberty's PG Baker. If Logan could get past her propensity for TOs she could start at the point every game. Kayla made some monster blocks and so did Kelly, and Tasia did some really fine defensive work at as well (also seemed to have hurt her back in the 4th, I hope not seriously). And it looks like Lexie may have finally found her shot!

Two side notes: In the 4th Q when the Liberty player fell and hit her head HARD (the sound was loud enough that we heard it in the opposite corner!), their trainer--if that's what he was--did NO kind of concussion protocol all. NONE! He just handed her a towel without hardly looking at her. (I'm a nurse and notice those kind of things.) The coach also ignored her.
Also Savannah Felgemacher was in the crowd. Spoke to her briefly after the game. God, is she gorgeous! If basketball fails, she could model. Zowie!

It's December, not March, as Pat Summitt used to remind people. What you do in March is the only thing that counts.
