Chad Morris from SMU. This was just brought up on the Mike Doocy sports report on KDFW TV, Channel 4's newcast in Dallas a few minutes ago. He said it will be announced either today or tomorrow.

Morris is an okay hire and will have similar results at Arkansas. Venables would have been a homerun hire though IMO.

No sure who got the scoop on this one....have not heard if DALE HANSEN at WFAA TV has this info yet.

I think the fact that he "turned around" the SMU program carried a lot of weight. His name had come up in several coaching searches. He has recruited some pretty good players despite some pretty high academic standards for admission to SMU.

Having good football players "pass" high academic standards is not an obstacle.

Too bad he used his pro jersey number in Chicago rather than the one he wore at Memphis in college.
