It was a very fluid situation. Numbers rose throughout the season. The last 48 hours were fun. Not sure on the final number but I'm fairly confident he's now the highest paid G5 coach.

FWIW: I heard they were ready to go up to $4 million. Not sure it got that high. But privately the talk was 4.
I'll piggy back on what Calkins said on the radio the other day. His Twitter activity made it seem like he was staying.

It should not be understated: Tennessee, Arkansas and Ole Miss all inquired. If the circumstances were different at either one...however, Memphis just paid big for a FOOTBALL coach. Monumental day. And one has to see a shift in the landscape is definitely occurring. Enjoy it.
