Hard to feel for someone who made millions playing pro ball, had chance to get college degree and then decided to throw it all away to deal drugs.

1) Don’t understand the relevance of a college degree. He had enough money to continue his education and in fact, in his years playing with the Grizzlies, I’m sure he could have had a full scholarship from the U of M out of appreciation of his successful career. Even with the degree, don’t see how anything changes in his life.
2) It is pure spectulation he was involved in the drug trade. If it is true, it probably had more to do with his possible mismanagement of his career NBA earnings. If he was in a great amount of debt, most of the jobs he could get with a bachelor’s degree probably couldn’t make up for being in a hole after earning $55 million from playing in the NBA plus any other money he may have earned from his celebrity.
3) Former Tiger (and Ren’s cousin) Scooter McFadgon has his bachelor’s degree. Yet somehow, he had had two public drug distribution connected run-ins with police. If he has a degree, how could he ever sell narcotics!?!
4) The man arrested for Ren’s murder has a long rap sheet which includes selling cocaine; but that’s what you see rather than him knowing the Wright family including being a member of Sherra Wright’s church?
If Ren was broke, and he recently had gotten an life insurance policy, and he had a new woman in his life that the spectulation was he would marry; and his basketball career was effectively over; I guess the only motivation anyone could have to kill the man was over a drug deal gone wrong.
Glad to know you are the cocaine cowboy to tell us about these things.
BTW NASCAR guy, Ren lived the American dream. He may have squandered his money, but he saw more than most of any of us could have dream of. He was a millionaire living and working in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and his hometown.
