yeah..."delusional" in your book are folks who expect better than SUNWACUSA..
All USM fans know we will soon be back on track from the ELLLLLLLLLLLLOS debacle, and the reason we aren't in the AAC is not win-losses, but friggin' TV sets!
IF you go to N. Mexico, New York or Utah, they've never heard of FAU, Florida Int'l. Airport or La Tech, but they almost always have heard of USM. Everyone better enjoy our temporary spot as "mediocre", because that will not last long.
That's just stupid. We played in the friggin WAC for 10+ years, you dolt.

With actual BCS teams, CUSA 2.0 never even had a BCS team. Hell even Skip Holtz won CUSA 2.0 .... TWICE!
I do not think it is fair comparing histories. FAU's football program is only 17 years old. Heck, some of the C-USA programs had been playing for a half a century longer than FAU had existed (opened doors in 1964). But history does not play football. Teams filled with actual players, coaches and supporting personnel do.

USM fans,
Please check eager eagle's meds.
Thanks,
CUSA
Dear CUSA,
They don't make meds for that ****. We tried that already.
Our apologies for the inconvenience, and we would like to thank you for your patience as we work to correct the issue.
I respect USM. You got a great history, in football. But you're sounding like some UAB fans who want to keep harping on the golden days of Basketball.
"We shouldn't be here."
"Look at our traditions."

USM has been a tough mid-major for a damn long time. Yeah, some of you new guys may not have been around for it, but Southern Miss is legit. They have dropped losses on major P5 teams over the years. They hit hard times lately and are digging their way back out. What, your teams never went through that?
USM and Marshall are both very respectable programs. Period.

Citizen's arrest...he called me a DOLT...citizen's arrest!
We understand USM and Marshall’s history. Not sure why the subject is being brought up, or why the two programs are/were so great. Is it to soften the blow when the two programs move from CUSA to the AAC, or the ACC? Big 12?
That's part of the problem. USM is unlikely to move up, because the #1 factor in re-alignment is TV markets and eyeballs to sell the advertisers. The Hattiesburg, Ms. market does not move the needle, and that's damn unfortunate. I'm not sure to what degree that hits Marshall.
It was facilities which got UAB left behind, that and the fact that our Board of Trustees was totally unwilling to do a damn thing to help the program grow. We sit in the #1 college football TV market in the nation, and the guys we'd been in a conference with said, "No, thanks".
We still need to get the new stadium moving, but things are much better here now.

Who knows. One of our obnoxious fans started it to troll obnoxious fans from other schools due to the FSU v USM thread. Truth be known, while we're sitting at 8-4 with a bowl bid, we should be thankful. We have a talented team without a QB in the sense. What's funny is a few years ago, 8-4 would've had us playing a title game. In a sense things are changing. We talk history, 2011 we had two losses both were conference losses and we played for the title. This year we had 2 conference losses and we're third in our division. Before we start beating our chest about anything we need to win a title or two in this version of the conference then we can lament about being screwed. Barely getting into bowl games (last season) and being third in the west ain't helping.

Not defending the OP, but this guy is completely clueless and doesn't speak for the rest of us or accurately at all. We in fact DO have a QB and a darn good one. He has a 15/2 td to int ratio. The last int came when they threw him in cold, in a game in the 4th quarter, after supposedly being injured, down two scores and backed up near his goal line. Hes not lost a game hes started with the actual starting / uninjured offensive line and only lost one game he started, in total. We would have beaten Kentucky, Tennessee and UAB had our coach started him those games. He nearly brought us back in the Kentucky game, only playing a half (220 yards 2 tds) and his one TN drive was a 95 yard TD drive. So we arent lucky to be 8-4. We are kind of lucky to have beaten La Tech with our other QB, but we did execute those plays and earned the victory.
But yeah. some Usm fans talk smack and beat their chest. Forgive us.
