I think that we are in a better place to replace Logan than if the same question were asked back in the Opelt/Cochran era. No disrespect to either of them but often times the programs with effective, well-established starters also put their reserves in the best place to succeed. Whoever the option is next year will have had some time to learn behind the best (Logan).

Think Aaron Rodgers following Brett Farve or Bruce G following Tavares Bolden. EDIT: Brian Jones also snuck a year in between Bruce and Tavares and was very successful.

Perhaps but looking at history of both college and pro teams, replaced one of your best QBs of all time is more often not easily done, the great to great transitions are very rare. I agree this team is built well and can recruit, but Woodside brought skills and experience that fit into the offense (or offense was built around him) and that may not be so easily done, and we know the MAC is a top QB dominated league. Just saying filling those QB shoes is by no means as easy feat, will be the key question heading into the off season.

Next season will be interesting with a wide open competition (Guadagni,Peters,Reese,Martin,Wilkinson,?) for the starting QB job. It's been quite a while since that happened.

RE: Coach Candle
QB competitions seem to hit the skids if Saban has someone looking for a place. Grad transfer. Lots of options. Only one we've seen is Guadagni, no? Good runner but he hasn't shown much of a natural arm has he?

Flexbone!

At DCA on Monday JC said Cody T is coming back. Jason is the real deal. Hoping that we can come up with $$$ for assistants. That to me will be what keeps him here in the short term. Lets hope he is good with UT since Nicole has a good job at the UT Foundation. Not in LaLa land but get the sense we have some more time with him at HC.

All good news, but Cody back? Thought he was out of time year wise, or played in too many games to get a med redshirt? Is it because we are playing 13 games and his % of games played goes down. Maybe same for Skipper?

RE: Coach Candle
Cody recently posted a video of him using an underwater treadmill. I find it hard to believe he will go from that to playing within less that 3 weeks.

MAYBE they are trying to get him a medical RS. I believe if you play in more than 30% of games you cannot take a medical RS? Well, he played 4 games + 5 plays out of 14 games. 4 / 14 = 28%. 5 / 14 = 35%. So maybe UT will argue that he only played 5(?) plays into his 5th game, so that shouldn't count.
