I'm certain that interested candidates have contacted us and our people have contacted candidates that interest us and we have identified cases where there is mutual interest, and have had conversations with money and term being discussed.

I was refuting the 48 hour time frame. If you read what I posted before, I already said they had done exactly what you described, but you can't hire a coach in 48 hours when you haven't done interviews. Hell, a significant background check takes longer than 48 hours.

Damn,that would be weird unless they know he's gone but I would think something would have leaked already.

There would have been no interviews at that stage, but gauging interest? Sure. That is the wonderful world of college athletics these days. The days of the interview to solidify any deal are long gone.
