Chris kicked a 38 yard field goal on the final play of the game to give the Steelers a win over Cincinnati. He's now 28-31 on field goals for the year. In his last two games against the Bengals he was 11-11 setting an NFL record. He's now 13-13.

BOZ! Freaking clutch

He's been nails now for 3 years. Current career FG % is 88.2%. He doesn't quite have enough attempts to make the NFL career leaders lists (need 100 attempts), but 88.2% would put him as the 3rd most accurate kicker in NFL history (Dan Bailey, Justin Tucker are 1 and 2). We always knew his was good...might've spoiled us, though!

He owns Cincy - pretty remarkable:

from a Pittsburgh paper --- "Boswell made three field goals against the Bengals. And for those counting – hint: it requires all of your fingers and toes – Boswell is 20 for 20 in field-goals attempts against the Bengals in his career. And that's just the regular season. Counting playoffs, he's 24 for 24."

Love it. I still think the marketing folks should find a way to play up "Rice Football = Kicker U!!!"

Too bad he wasn't good enough to beat out Randy Bullock with the Texans. ROFL thanks a lot Bill O'Brien

I do think it's funny that both Boz and Fat Randy are considered to be Bengal-killing kickers. Although Bullock killed the Bengals concurrent with his employment, so maybe that doesn't count.

What makes this more impressive is his home field is said to be one of the toughest places to kick due to its winds

What makes this sad is that given the Texans kicking woes, we had Boz on the team twice and cut him!

What is also sad is that after seeing how Boz impacted games here, Bailiff did not go out and find another Boz to replace him.

I've walked through a situation on here before where, against SMU just before the half, the threat of Boz got us a touchdown. That is the way to use a kicker, even when he doesn't have to kick.

We just offered (yesterday) a top 20 kicker for 2018 according to twitter.

Right before the half, game was still close, we have about third and 7 on roughly their 25. We throw an incomplete pass, so fourth down, but we hold on the play. Ordinarily SMU would decline and force the 42 yard FG attempt, but Boz is money and June doesn't want to give us 3, so he takes the penalty. Now the FG would be 52, and the normal play call would be for us to throw something short to get an easier field goal. But we know Boz is good out to 60, so we take the deep shot downfield. SMU is sitting at the 10-15 yard depth, because that is the normal call there. So we get open behind them and complete the pass down to around the 5 or so. Next play, we score the TD with about 30 seconds left. Having Boz on our side changed every call until the TD. I was sitting with Kent Rowald, and we both agreed that the threat of Boz got us that touchdown.

Even without that possible FG, Boz made five that game ... from 56, 51, 43, 53 and 28 yards. Yep ... three were longer than 50 yards. :-)

Pittsburgh will have a 9th home game this season - when the Steelers play at NRG on Christmas Day, I predict that at least 60% (probably more) of the fans will be for Pittsburgh.

So I was ten yards off, sorry about that. Memory is not what it used to be.

I think most coaches let us have the 52 yard try, but not with Boz. The gutsy call was the deep pass, but obviously we were comfortable giving him a swing at it from 62. What a weapon.
