RE: Iowa State Game
Yes, Iowa St is 14 points better than NIU. Huskies competed well. Huskies saw their no.1 weakness(rebounding) do them in. They should get better with this game experience. Lacey James not a factor so far this season has to be the teams biggest disappointment. Put Maric on this team and they would’ve had a legit chance tonight.

RE: Iowa State Game
We outreboundrd them. We had 9 assists to their 22. And for the Nth year in a row, the team refuses to defend the 3. Such a joke

RE: Iowa State Game
Huskies had several rebounds in their hands and could not control the ball. Many positives: shot ball well again. NIU leads the MAC in fg%. Huskies shot the 3 pretty well 7-16 for 44%. Iowa St was outstanding shooting the three 14-26 for 53%. Both teams shot few free throws and both were bad tonight. Dante Thorpe scored 19pts he’s capable of games like that. They have to get Lacey James scoring or it’s going to be a frustrating season. They could’ve done some things better but I thought in their first game in front of 13,894 people they were respectable. Iowa St is just a better team.

Depth is an issue with this team as well...when Bradley and German go out, it's gross, really gross.

RE: Iowa State Game
I agree with more positives than negatives, this was not a bad performance at all. It just looks to me like the lack of interior strength right now is costing them on the perimeter. Not that NIU can be a good perimeter defensive team, but I do think when Key returns everything can stabilize a little bit more, and NIU might slightly tighten things up at the perimeter. This team has a chance to be competitive in the MAC, obviously still far more likely to be a bottom half finisher but at least there are some things to grow on here

Nothing wrong with a 94-80 loss at Iowa State.

RE: Iowa State Game
I now have the Huskies as a middle of the pack MAC team with offensive efficiency but probably the worst defense in the conference. What a major flip from what we are used to.

Speaking of flips, my current power rankings have the Akron Zips as the worst team in the conference right now

RE: Iowa State Game
Everyone preaches 3 point shooting and assists. Well where do most assists come from? Ball movement on the perimeter for open shots, post entries that are kicked back out and drive kick. None of which happen when your guards, especially the PG, don’t do any of that. Alll they look to do is score. I’ve watched several games this year, people complain about the bigs but they never see the ball to do anything with or are setting ball screens for guards to get theirs and are then out of position. Or when they roll on pick and rolls, the guards refuse to even look their way.

Genoa is a hell of a scorer but he does nothing for making the offense run for the team in general.
