President Trump won (back to back!), but time wanted an interview and he said no thanks.

An unemployed, non-voting, cop-hating, alt-left SJW, a conspiracy theorist, and a hashtag. Quite the list of finalists!

I'd vote for the hashtag. No actual person deserves the honor if that's who Time has to choose from.

I agree. Certainly Taylor Swift and Ashley Judd are no different from a lot of celebrities who came forward with their own stories this year. Rose McGowen has been more of a spokesmen for women speaking out on abuse than those two I imagine.

In fairness to Colin, he did single-handedly destroy the NFL for millions so that's a big deal worthy of being on TIME.

If you seriously think this is the only reason the NFL is losing, you're not paying attention.

Military Donation Scandal.
Ray Rice Handling.
CTE Issues.
London Games.
Thursday Night Football.
Deflate Gate Mess.
Replay Debacles and Rules on Catches no one can figure out.
Season Ending Injuries to Multiple Stars.

And this is just scratching the surface.

For once, I agree with you. Well, mostly. I think Thursday Night Football is a cool thing. (Should it be done on a weekly basis? No, not really, but frankly, it doesn't bug me.) Also, the last major point (Season-ending injuries to multiple stars) has happened every single year since I was a little kid discovering the NFL. I remember Dan Marino tearing his Achilles Tendon in the middle of the '93 season. The Dolphins were a legitimate threat to challenge the Bills for the AFC East title that year. If he had stayed healthy, they probably could've beaten them in the playoffs. (Unfortunately, if memory serves me correctly, the Dolphins missed the playoffs that year.)

All of that wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that the Kaepernick so-called "Take a Knee" (during the anthem) protest was the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of fans. Hell, several friends of mine have quit watching it and they were diehard Texans fans.

Curious...if Watson were still playing and the Texans were 10-2, would they still be watching? 03-wink

Some would, yes. Some wouldn't. It's really a case by case basis, my friend.

Of course, my wife and I quit watching because we're tired of head coach Bill O'Brien and General Manager Rick Smith. She made the decision for us. I still kinda want to watch because I love the Texans no matter what. I'm just tired of mediocrity being acceptable by the front office.

I hope that answers your question. 04-cheers

I don't think 2017 needs a person of the year. The year itself was enough of a doozy.

Hunh.

Not a bad idea at all.

For that, I’m gonna nominate you for person of the year.

I mean, if it’s someone that really doesn’t/ wouldn’t (me included) give a poo about an “honor” such as this...

Who cares? And why ??

Other than the overblown periodic concussion thing, what on earth about any of the rest of that list is, what?

Criminal?

Somehow “actionable” (other than the run of the mill ambie-chasers we all see and despise.

Not sure what your question is. My point is that there are myriad factors which are reducing the popularity of the NFL.

The National Anthem kneelers are losing their voice now because of the latest accusation against Jameis Winston who have legal issues now for sexually groping a UBER female driver. Winston also took to his knees during the Anthem. The football players are nothing but hypocrites.
